Don't ya think Motti was a little luni? I mean, to talk to Vader like that only deserved a force choke. Did Motti know karate or judo or something? Why talk like that to Vader?

You have to remember that by this point the Jedi are all but eliminated. The only Jedi left are Obi-wan and Yoda and they are both in hiding. Most people in the Empire believed that the Force was just superstition. Vader knew otherwise and was teaching Motti a lesson.

I guess he was used to talking like that. He came from a very powerful family. I think Tarkin was married to Motti's sister.

Hmm, for some reason I can't see Tarkin as the marrying type...

He's not a Jedi or something :p A lot of Admirals and important government figures in fiction have a quiet family life.

Tarkin's wife appeared in the Marvel comics. She was known as Lady Tarkin. IIRC, it was stated that she came from the Motti family.

    The marriage was completely political.

Seriously, Motti has no idea does he? He must be related to someone high up. Maybe he's the bastard son of Palpy's illegitimate half-daughter's son-in-law's uncle's plumber. He probably steals from the petty cash drawer when no one is looking.

Who actually had something going on upstairs was tagge. If they had listened to him, they might have actually analyzed the Death Star earlier and looked for a tactical flaw..

Good thing for the Rebels that they didn't.

Motti is crazy! I mean, think of all of the other admirals and generals in ESB. They were scared sh!tless of Vader. At least Motti is Italian!

    I think Vader listened.

He was concerned about getting the plans back after all. Don't forget the line, "Don't be to proud of this technological terror. . ."

I think, in the Clone Wars, he's seen enough destruction due to his (and other) Jedi powers to convicence him there was a weakness. It just hadn't been found (and exploited) yet.
