I'm still left behind with Lost, I got three episodes into Season 2, then didn't get round to watching the rest. It's not because I dislike it - I think some episodes are some of the best telly I've seen. I'd better catch up...

I've just finnished watching Arrested Development (American Sitcom), and think the entire thing was brilliant. Funny & wierd, with a massive throng of great characters. It's a shame the show was cancelled with only a 12 episode third season. It just wasn't getting the ratings aparrently. :(

Oh, and I've just re-watched Season one of Maid Marian and her Merry men. I was cautious, as seeing an old programme from your childhood might be dodgey, but no, it's still great! I think it's mainly Tony Robinson's doing, that man could comment on anything and I'd find it funny. The DVD also has a great quiz... Hours of fun! :D

The Maid Marian and her Merry men is very much on my 'to buy' list, along with Firefly (calm down jamie :p ).

The really bad news is that SKY have just bought the rights to Lost. A real bummer and will have a knock-on effect on the convention circuit I fear.
I may resort to downloading but I'm not really a fan of downloading TV programmes.

hey! I loved Firely... too bad they only did like 12 episodes or something. Atleast Serenity gives decent closure on any unanswered questions (save for the priest).

Be careful, you'll get addicted to Firefly and have to watch three or four episodes in one sitting... Fantastic series, I love it to bits.

Some people just like dressing up in fishnets and basques, I guess.

Look at this picture of someone dressed as Franknfurter from the Rocky Horror Show, for example [face_mischief] :

I liked Torchwood. Part 2 was better then part 1, that was just an intro and went too slowly.

I still think Dr Who is better :p

    torchwood was... a bit boring.
and enough with the 'hey,it's great to be gay',already.
chicks snogging is all good and well...
    but.
an 'adult' show does not one make.
    and the totally gratuitous swearing?
    hey,i love to swear...
    but.

Then don't post in a TV thread then :p

I enjoyed Torchwood although I agree it shouldn't resort to having constant sex references just for the sake of it being an 'adult' series. If it carries on like that then it'll get very boring very quickly. Still, it's fresh and pleasant to see the UK produce a Sci-Fi series like it.

Anyone see Phil & Kirstie's Sis Top 10 best and worst places to live in the UK?? I confess I enjoy these programmes, although I felt sorry for poor Hackney. But well done to Tunbridge Wells as it's not too far from me.

Hacknonians seem to like Hackney no matter how bad it is. I loved living and growing uo there whilst at the same time realising that it was a merde hole. Maybe they should have done a proper survey and asked real Hacknonians whether they liked the place or not.
As it stands I'm proud to say that I hail from Hackney and couldn't give a fig whether no tails like it or not. So there... :p.

Opened a TV thread on regional too - here

I watch very little TV in the week, but I will be watching the new series of Lost and Planet Earth.

Did I hear someone bashing Hackney? Yes, I lived right down the street from the worst estate in London (Kingshold), but the street I grew up in was a good one (still miss the neighbours), and I got to know a cool redhead while I lived there (who's only second to Shirley Manson [face_love] ). Izzy, whatever happened to you?? :_|
