What's the best battle sequence music?

I know there are loads of threads like this already, but what's your favourite battle sequence music? I really like the Battle of Hoth, as it's got some very cool themes in it. What's everybody else's favourite one?

 

From the SW saga, "The Battle of Hoth" is definitely my favorite. It's such an energetic and unique-sounding sequence of music.

 

Oh, I'm a big Battle of Hoth fan, especially the two grand pianos at the beginning, something that didn't get put in the movie. Such a menacing sound....

 

I've always been a big fan of the Battle of Yavin music, especially the end where Luke fires the torpedos. Very powerful music.

 

Well, I'm undecided.

Yavin carries your feelings. Period. It makes you get lump in your throat when it sounds out Bigg's death, and it tranports you into Luke's mind as he decides- the Force, or the targeting computer.

Hoth carries the desperatness of the situation as well as the unstoppable power of the Empire.

Endor lets you "hear" the confusing going on with fighters simply trying to survive long enough amongst Star Destroyers and squadrons upon squadrons of TIES so they can fly into the Death Star superstructure.

All very good- I can't decide.

battle of yavin for me!

 

It's gotta be HOTH. Awesome!

I love at the beginning how you can "hear" the triumph of the first transport escaping, then the walker's foot comes down. And the battle begins.

2nd fave would have to be ENDOR, of course. "Into the Trap".

 

I think the best is The Destruction of Xizor's Skyhook.

What about your Non-SW fave battle sequence music?

A also like the medley they put together for the X-Wing and TIE Fighter collectors CD ROMs.

 

Mine would be Battle of Hoth
also Battle of Endor I, II & III & The medley from XvT. All great music.

 

if ep1 counts then I say Duel of the Fates
but that probably isn't what you mean
so I would say the space battle of endor
"into the trap" I think

 

"Sail Barge Assault" formerly known as "Return of the Jedi."
I love the way it starts with the horns building the tension as Luke is about to be pushed over, and once the lightsaber turns on the tempo changes. It's just great scene and the music adds to the drama.

 

Definately "The Battle of Hoth". That gets me pumped up.

 

Non-SW? I have to go with "The Battle" from the movie Gladiator. That really gets your pulse going.

I have to go with the majority and say "Battle of Hoth."

 

Are we ignoring TPM? Does anyone consider "Battle at Hoth" to be better than Dotf?

 

DotF was very good, very catchy...but Battle of Hoth is much better. I actually got sick of DotF for several months after hearing it for the umpteen-millionth time.

 

Yes, I think Hoth was superior to Duel of the Fates.

Without a doubt, the Battle of Hoth.

 

ESB may have been the best film but the best soundtrack it did not have.

The Battle of Hoth and The Battle of Yavin are my absolute favorites. Tied for first. The Battle of Endor is a very close second.
