The Book is better, although Viggo was great.

I really liked "The Fighter" Christian Bale was awesome and Amy Adams is hot.

The Trotsky, a comedy by young director Jacob Tierney, starring Jay Baruchal, Emily Hampshire, Saul Rubinek and Colm Feore. The main character is a high school student who believes he is the reincarnation of Leon Trotsky. Young Leon (Baruchal) first pisses off his dad (Rubinek) by trying to unionize the workers at his factory, and subsequently endeavors to turn his high school's student union into an actual union that advocates on behalf of the students. Like Good Neighbours, Tierney's most recent film, The Trotsky is set in French Canada, the atmosphere of which lends the movie a distinct quality.

The film has a uniquely well executed romantic subplot as well, involving a woman Leon meets whose name happens to be Alexandra and who happens to be 9 years older than him, (the real Leon Trotsky's first wife was an Alexandra 9 years his senior).

The King's speech, which made me interested in some other films about British royalties so I finally watched Young Victoria, and that's the second best film I've seen so far this year.

Moon is up there for me too. It's about fourth after The Trotsky, Amores Perros, and Black Swan. The King's Speech rounds out my top five for the year thus far.

EDIT: Final note on The Trotsky: It's on Netflix Instant at the moment, for those who have access to such things.

I picked up "The Road" on Blu-Ray but haven't watched it yet. I'm looking forward to it.

"Moon" was incredible. I half-expected some sort of homage or reference to "Space Oddity" since it was directed by David Bowie's son, and I went in to it somewhat skeptical based on that, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

A couple of weeks ago I took my older son to see "Rango" and I loved it. My girlfriend and I are gonna go see "Paul" this week. It seems I get to go to the movies about once every three or four weeks these days, which is a huge change from once every four or five months while I was married. I know it'll never be once or twice a week like it used to be before I ever had kids, but it's still really nice to actually go out and see a film like a normal person again.

Don't get me wrong, Netflix has corrupted me thoroughly, and instant streaming is something that I believe is better than crack.

So, somehow I forgot about Four Lions (trailer's a might spoily) earlier so my top five that I've seen since January should be amended to:

    1.) The Trotsky
    2.) Amores Perros
    3.) Black Swan
    4.) Four Lions
    5.) Moon
