Well, I didn't even know there was a race on till half an hour before the start, but the Formula One European Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain, was the most important sporting event this weekend.

Was following and noting details on my laptop, and have more results to add tonight, along with yesterday's Qualifying resuts too.

And two weeks' time, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone! :D

This past weekend, it was a toss up between the Pirates-Red Sox series and the Gold Cup final. This weekend, it'll be Wimbledon.

This weekend, it's easy. Women's World Cup final. I'be watching the Pirates closely, too, but that's got nothing on the USWNT.

The Dodgers playing the D'Backs in Arizona to open up the 2nd half of the baseball season.................if there was to be any chance (as slim as it is) for the Dodgers to make noise/an impact within the division, it has to start with this series.

It was going to be Everton v. Tottenham, but since that's out, I'll go with the Pirates. They've got a crucial series against the Brewers coming up in Milwaukee.

Crows v Cats. We'll see if our improvement after sacking the coach is because we were playing even worse teams or because we're actually playing better.

Hopefully ESPN will find another game to put on at that slot. But I will still be loving teh EPL 1st weekend. That's #1 for me. #2 is the Montreal Masters semis and final(mens tennis)

edit: I just read somwhere that Fulham and Aston Villa will be shown on ESPN2 now instead. Not confirmed yet

I'm sure that ESPN will put something in; I'd just have preferred to watch Tottenham.

    CU @ OSU

If things go poorly, I might not be able to show up to work for a few weeks.

Be interesting to see how Manning's neck holds up to the Steelers defense. Especially with replacement refs involved.

I personally hope the 'Skins make mincemeat of the Saints.

That's something that's crossed my mind, too. That game will have an interesting dynamic to it, with Ryan Clark definitely out and a maybe for James Harrison.

USA-Jamaica is by far more important than the NFL kicking off. Even to the Steelers fan living in Denver.

I can see where you're coming from. But I think of it this way - I've seen the USMNT play in a WC qualifier a lot more recently than I've seen the Steelers play in a regular season/post season football game. So, they're 1 and 1a for me.

I wish I still lived in Denver. I used to talk all kinds of smack on my employees for Broncos and Steelers games. Slc has soccer and the Bees. Nba basketball is pretty much dead to me, can't watch it.

And the soccer team is FSL. Say no more. :p
