Hiya. I know there was a fair bit of hoohaahing (sp.) regarding the ROTS DVD release, inasmuch as Lucasfilm (or whoever) decided not to release the film on VHS, to the chagrin of many people, myself included. HOWEVER, I walked into my local Warehouse store the other day (N.B I'm in New Zealand....I suppose the Warehouse would be equivalent to Walmart, etc...), and to my surprise, there was a whole display of ROTS on VHS...needless to say, I gobbled it up (now the vhs cycle is complete [face_dancing]).

So, with regards to the above, I was wondering if VHS copies are available over there (ie America, Europe, rest of world, etc...), or if the non-vhs embargo still stands.

I also noticed ROTS available on VHS today at Woolworths, didn't purchase it though.

I'm in the US and I've not seen any.

BTW, I like your title... it reminds me of a really great
Pink Floyd song called: "Wots... uh, the deal?"
Come to think of it, was that your intention??

You can make one yourself, for your use only, from the DVD. DVD players on sale are dirt cheap.

Awesome! Like I said that is a great song. Actually I really like
that whole album. Most people I know who like the Floyd don't even
consider it a 'real' PF album because it's the soundtrack to a french
film, but I say blah.... they know not what they miss!

Well, well I've derailed your thread enough.
Kudos to you and your good taste my friend.

They don't sell Episode 3 VHS in the USA, they only sell Widescreen and Full Screen DVD's.

I'm in Canada and I haven't seen a VHS on sale. I bought a DVD player just so I could watch ROTS. I don't regret it one bit.

I think LucasFilm should have had at least a limited release of ROTS on VHS for all the folks that wanted to have a complete VHS collection. The VHS's probably would have sold fairly well exactly for that reason.

Absolutely. DVD is obviously superior, but as you say angelicusdiablos, it is nice to have that option.

I just remember prior to the release that there were a few people who were annoyed that there was to be no vhs alternative. When I saw the display stand featuring the videos (how old does that word sound already [face_blush]?, I remember thinking "huh?"

Well, either it's a small time official release or it's a good fanmade bootleg.

I'd go for the former....its far too slick to be a fan made job, even a very convincing one at that

ROTS has been released on VHS in some market areas (for example here in Sweden and in many other European countries such as Great Britain etc.).
