My plans for going out to the movies tonight got shot down in flames. Hubby has to work late on some coding problem for the contract he's on, so can't go see 9/11 tonight.

On the plus side, Derisa, my daughter and I get to eat seafood tonight at Nautical Nellie's. Lobster, oysters, mussels, clams, smoked salmon...even periwinkles, all on one huge combo platter! Yay me!

If any of you Edmontooine, Tipoca, Calgary, or Fraser Valley folks ever come to Victoria for a visit, we're going to Nautical Nellie's for dinner, without fail.

I haven't had lobster in a long while, but I absolutely LOVE it...

 

We ended up having Dungenes crab, with a compromise of picing up some lobster at Save On so we can eat it cold, as apparently it's better that way.

I got an old copy of Photoshop 7.0 today.

Yay, me!

I have no idea how to use Photoshop 7.0.

What do you need to know?

Tutorials will teach you everything you need, and they aren't to hard to find

 

Oh yeah, definately going to have to go that route, I think. I'd never *seen* photoshop before, and opening it up for the first time and seeing all those tools, options, and names for those functions of which I had no idea the meaning...I think it'll be a while before I'm making banners and icons, but that's my eventual goal.

Perhaps someday I can do animated photos with sound, too, and then I can be just like fing when I grow up, (except without the fondness for chili peppers).

I have noticed that there isn't much posts from Calgary (where I travel for work) and Winnipeg (where I'm from) in here?

I have also noticed that some of you have actually met! Well, my next trip to Calgary is on August 23, 2004. I should be in town until Friday at least. I always travel in hopes of meeting people from MSN or Yahoo Chat groups, but have never been successful.

Maybe that's a good thing. So I thought I would try meeting like minded people. Anyone have a couple of days to kill for Star Wars trivia?! >-)

 

calgary boards are pretty dead, maybe if you post about a meeting there it will get them started, I don't think they've actually had any meetings yet, or maybe just one. I don't think I've seen any of the calgary people in here.

 

Yeah, I would definately post on the Calgary board that you are going to be there; maybe it can get them motivated into having a meetup...

 

You can go one step further, and PM the people that appear to have been the most active (at least the most recently active) there. I mean, post in the forum itself, but as a double-measure PM folks too, in case they've stopped checking the forum because of inactivity.

My youngest son has strep throat. poor mite's glands are all swollen and nasty looking, and the doctor was majorly impressed by what a trooper he was being. It's funny: when he has a stubbed toe or trips and falls he wails and cries, but with real pain, he tries to laugh through it.
