What's your favorite PT duel?

1. Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul - Still the best!

2. Obi-Wan vs. Darth Vaderkin - If the second half of the Duel was as good as the first, it would have been number one. The dialogue is what sets this one apart, though.

3. Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul - This is one of the most underrated duels, IMHO.



4. Obi-Wan vs. Grievous - On second thought, this one is entertaining enough on a purely amusing level. (I mean that in a good way!)

Obi and Qui Gonn vs Darth Maul best duel overall.

 

The Duel of Fates and The Duel are tied for me.
Duel of Fates is very well put togeter and The Duel is the most emotional duel in the whole saga.
Next in line is Yoda vs Sid.

I'm getting tired of this attitude of calling me a basher. It needs to stop.

 

Something about Yoda v.s. Palpatine is just cool to me. It was the last fight I expected to see in ROTS despite knowing logically that Yoda and Palpatine were the respective heads of the Jedi/Sith conflict and would likely clash. It was also the one I was least spoiled for, so I really got hyped when it finally went into execution - and a great battle it was!

Second runner up is the big AOTC Dooku v.s. Anakin/Obi Wan duel. I'm quite fond of it and the abstract look and feel of the fight.

 

The best Duel has to be Anakin vs. Obi-Wan. That was heavy I could almost feel the emotion in duel.
A close second id Qui-Gon and Obi-won vs. Darth Maul. The rest can't even come close to these two!!!

 

Obi-Wan VS Anakin was great but I wouldn't have liked it as much if not for it being on Mustafar. The enviroment really made the duel. Where as Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul was a great battle from start to finish. Maul performed some sweet moves without looking silly as the CGI Yodo did with all his fancy flipps and such.

 

Favorite PT duel has to be Duel of the Fates, Obi and Qui Gon vs Maul.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; every duel since then in Ep II and III were not filmed properly. George's camera is too close, you lose sight of what is actually happening in the blur of the lightsabers. I think the other non 'duel' fights were done better in II and III (vs Jango, the Jedi vs the droids on Geonosis, Obi vs Grievous) than the actual duels, from a filmmaking perspective. Obi and Anakin vs Dooku in AOTC started out OK, but once it was just Anakin vs Dooku, it got like this. And whoever said Anakin looks like he's standing still waiting for it when Dooku cuts his arm off, you're exactly right!

John Williams fantastic score was also a big + for Duel of the Fates, he didn't come close to it with anything he did in II or III either.

Obi-Wan vs. Anakin

 

If it wasn't for Anakin floating on a droids head over lava I would have voted for the Anakin vs Obi-Wan but I am going to stick with Qui-Gonn, and Obi-Wan vs Maul.

 

I voted for Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul. That one has the best choreography. The Anakin and Obi-Wan duel would have been better if it had stayed more subtle and not gone so over-the-top.
