    Definitely the OT.

The PT has its moments, the story is more complex and adult. But also its share of serious flaws to my tastes.

I used to say the OT without blinking, but recently I've re-examined the PT and, while it's definitely much more flawed, I can't help but admire the concepts and themes, and ambition. Despite what doesn't work, a lot does, and you can see what was trying to be done. It's hard for me to say.

Love both trilogies (and I'm totally digging that the "Both" option is giving the OT a run for its money on this poll. ;) ).

I must say that I admire this loyalty. The OT is something special; the PT and the OT together, for me, even moreso.

No other set of blockbuster movies -- no other set of movies period, it seems -- quite has my attention and dedication the way the Star Wars saga does.

Even if it were just the OT, I think it would be worthy of esteem. Other movies simply cannot match the primal, quintessential brilliance of SW, in my opinion.

My favorite is AOTC, ROTS, and ANH. What I call the Inner Trilogy.

I definitely prefer the OT. But the PT has a lot to offer despite its serious flaws.

Hmm, depends which way you look at it. The PT is more of a unified series of films within itself, so I guess in that sense it's a better trilogy. However my two favourite SW films, by a wide margin, are OT films, so there's probably more quality in that trilogy from my point of view.

The OT, or as I like the call it: The Adventures of Luke Skywalker.

OT- I do like the PT, but really only as a supplement to the original films.

Prequels, hands down, although both are great. IMHO, the PT has:

    - Better story
    - Better acting
    - Better effects
    - Better heroes
    - Better villains
    - Stronger themes
    - Better locations

I'm sure there's more, but I'm sure you get my meaning :p

The OT by quite a sizeable margin.

There are elements of the PT I like, but as a whole there are too many flaws to ignore.

    OT without question.

    Better story
    Better acting
Easier flow but equal complexity to PT
    Coolest ship ever: X-wing
    My Sir's presence
Luke is a much more compelling grey character than his father in PT

    PT or OT ?
Oh , not this topic again ...
It's a saga consisting of 6 episodes which happen to be separated sometimes by some [face_not_talking] .

It used to be both, but after the blu ray release and the OT fans started lashing out at GL, Ive become more interested in the PT Clone Wars era. It seems the PT Clone Wars era has less fans so Im more interested in the PT, the announcement of the new Disney movies also pushed me to liking the PT more.

Oddly enough, I agree with you. That's coming from someone who ultimately still prefers the OT. Next to the OT, the clone wars is my favorite era in star wars. Lately, I've been becoming more interested in the PT both the films and the era itself. I'm not certain why either, perhaps due for nostalgia, that a lot of my favorite EU works are in the PT era or again perhaps I'm just finding the PT era more interesting lately.

My favorite trilogy is Episodes II, IV and VI.

That's right, I cheated. I mixed Petri dishes. I crossed the streams. I made my own, special Star Wars Trilogy cocktail. I didn't click on "classic" or "prequel" or even "both". I clicked on "Ingram rules!" (figuratively) and whoever doesn't like it, come at me!

    Attack of the Clones
    A New Hope
    Return of the Jedi

That's my trilogy. The line has been drawn. All the cool kids stand over *here*. The rest of you? Bah! You're not invited to my Ewok celebration.

OT for me. Yeah, I know that's kind of odd considering I'm an Ahsoka fan, but considering she wasn't featured in any of the main movies, it's a moot point to even talk about it. IMO, what the OT may have lacked in luxurious special effects CGI the way the PT did, it more than made up for in character dialogue and on-screen chemistry.

I sincerely believe the bashing of the PT isn't really about the stories and overall tie-ins to the OT. It's more about the actors playing the roles (well the live action actors anyway...Jar Jar needs no explanation). Yes, I get that Lucas wanted to go the nameless-route when choosing an actor to play Anakin. But jeez. Don't even think of comparing a young Mark Hamil to Hayden Christensen, I beg of you. The dude just tried too hard; both with his emotions and his dead-in-the-water chemistry with Natalie Portman; an actress of whom I respect.
