When I first saw Alien...I was 10 years old and a total sci-fi buff after Star Wars...no one had told me about the alien popping through the chest bit...by the time Harry Dean Stanton got it...I was behind the couch..shivering and praying for it to be over...

The original of "The Haunting" (B&W) is really scary.

Aw yeah. But that wasnt that scary I thought.

Are you talking about the original or the Klaus Kinski one?

The original was well scary. The remake was kinda sad.

I recommend Black Christmas to anyone who likes a good slasher movie.

EDIT: Yeah, the original was better. The bit where he's going up the stairs and his shadow grabs the woman's heart (the famous clip)...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The first time I saw Blair Witch I totally freaked and (as Andy said) I was crying in the cinema I was so scared...

...but thats cuz I'd read the Private Eye's Dossier with all the background so that added to it.

    Thats a scary book.

    Alien.
    Candyman.
    The Shining.
    The Omen.

Exorcist is overrated, and Blair Witch is a duller than hell load of steaming *****!

Blair Witch didn't scare me.... spooked the hell out of Tasha though... it's also the first film I've ever watched where the entire audience was just completely silent.. not even the rustle of popcorn or sweet bags... nothing.. complete silence... that was spooky in itself!

Terminator spooked me when I was a kid...

I enjoyed Blair Witch, even though it wasn't scary at all. The acting was top notch!

There were a couple of good bits though - the bit with the stick men in the trees, or the bit where they hear the children outside, or the ultimate scene in the house. Woooooo

//was not scared by Blair Witch either...

The Omen, yes... even though I'm an athiest, there's gotta be something more powerful out there...

    lol!!

And that scene in the house, I have to admit, chilled me to the bone...

ed: even though I'm an athiest, there's gotta be something more powerful out there...

    isn't that a bit contradictory?
