    Currently there are two campaigns,

2000 years after the Yuzzhan Vong invasion the galaxy was struck by a huge cataclysm which plunged it back into the Dark Ages.

The players include a Neo-Jedi who basically built a bunch of feudal warrior traditions into his own incomplete ideas about the Force, his apprentice, some smugglers, a scavenger, and a genetically engineered soldier.

Facing them is the Reborn Sith Order built by actual legitamate descendants of the Sith who rule the new Empire, two canon fodder villaineous races, oh yes

    and THE CTHULHU MYTHOS

    :)

They're coming to this galaxy and its a tickdown to see if they can be stopped (i.e. they can't unless the Chosen One is found)

    ***

Vincent Helekar is the head of the Mob on his planet and with his Human Replica Droid feels the need to protect it from all outsiders

This includes meddling Jedi and Black Sun

    :)

    Agamemno?s amulet
    Part 2
a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..

Unknowing of the peril of his new friends, the pilot joku bu ferries king theomore and the jedi master hymmn-vo in search of queen larannah, the kings wife, who all involved believe was abducted by the war-like mandalorians. So far their travels ahve already taken them to several outer-rim worlds, where neither the kings political influence, or the reputation of the jedi has been very helpful in turning up any clues.
Now approaching the planet of nar shadda, one of the political strongholds of the vile gangster-like hutts., the three men will have to rely on different skills and ways to find information, being as they are far from any offical republic assistance and the jedi mind-tricks are nearly useless on the long lived hutts
meanwhile, the sinister plans of darth vahlk play more into the picture every minute. Joku bu is on nar shadda, while three of his friends face untold dangers in the tomb of agamemno, and the princess is alone on the surface of coachelle prime...

    and THE CTHULHU MYTHOS

there's already a SW/Cthulhu Mythos crossover in the EU: Splinter of the Mind's Eye.

in SotE, the Mimbanites worship a deity they call Pomojema. when the heroes reach the Temple of Pomojema, the statue they see there depicts the deity as having big, evil-seeming eyes over a face that's nothing but a mass of tentacles, huge nasty claws, and leathery bat-like wings...

Well, we just started up again.

    The Freelancers

We're on a backwater planet, about 2 years prior to the Battle of Yavin. There's an Imp garrison there, as well as shipyards building an experimental class of ship, "The Interdictor."

All the characters are old friends from the planet who all promised to meet again at this time.

We have a human, Thelonius Azplanter, former Scout Trooper-turned Jazz musician who got a discharge from Imp service because he couldn't kill people. This is my character, I have him being equal parts Spike Speigal from Cowboy Bebop and Vash the Stampede from Trigun. He has many contacts with the Imp garrison.

A Selonian named Kaleela. She's our chief negotiator (an my agent). She has many underground contacts. She's sneaky, and a great pilot and hacker.

A Human named Vincinus. Um, dark side marauder. Very quiet. Has already eliminated an entire pirate base...on accident. "Oops." Hand to hand fighter. Ostensibly works as a body guard.

And finally, a near-human, un-named character who is basically a member of a cult. He was the only one who didn't drink the Kool-Aid. He's our sniper. Also a body guard.

In our game, we have a "Sympathy system," where we gain the favour (or dis0favour) of certain groups depending on our actions. We have the Imps, the Rebs, Mining Guild, Spacing Guild, Merc Guild, and various pirate groups. Obviously, if you help the Imps, the Rebs get ticked. We call this the Freelancer Game, because it is totally driven by the players. We make the story, the GM just adapts to our actions. He's very talented. We've already helped the Imps out a couple times, and the Spacing and Mining Guilds owe us one.

Deep in the tomb of Agameno , Jaice and kyle have discovered the remains of 40 missing jedi knights. While morris and kerrik have been battling their way through different parts of the tomb. Their experiences have led them to believe that they are all captives in a giant death trap

After becoming worried the princess syrena goes off in search of her companions. Along with her lepi bodyguards she finds a hidden entrance to an underground cloning facility, where she is captured

meanwhile Joku has stumbled onto a plot which may or may not be the product of hymmn-vo or the king. While joku finds and deals with a handful of clones that resemble theomore , his new companion tiny is whisked off planet with hymmn-vo in their ship

all the time the shadow of darth vahlk looms over the group...

    The mandalorians strike back
a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..

The jedi masters from the council chambers on coruscant, have removed the carbonite encased tomb of agamemno from coachelle-prime. Having taken it to a secret location the masters have temporarily thwarted the plans of the dark warrior who now holds the amulet, but is still seeking the crystals entombed with agamemno.
In the mean time The political climate on marlavva grows more grave by the hour. The king and his family have been replaced with clones. Clones who answer to someone who is an enemy of the republic. After being attacked by mandalorian shock troops in the skies of coruscant she , along with joku and jaice now face the treacherous road to assume the throne as the new queen of marlava. The princess syrena has approached the republic senate to gain their support in her attempt to gain the throne of marlavva.
meanwhile, the jedi master hymmn-vo, along with syrena?s personal bodyguard morris, and kyle return to marlavva ahead of the new queen, to prepare for her arrival. well, i'm starting my new TOTJ/KOTOR era d20 RPG tonight.

start date is going to be 3965 BBY. the PCs are basically involved in various ways with trying to tame a wide swath of space on the edge of Republic space, tucked in between the Cron Drift, the Perlemian Run, and Hutt Space (which is bigger and more powerful in this era in my game), and dealing with other issues of the day. i'm starting them at 8th level to reflect the idea that these guys are starting to become really accomplished and entrusted with big responsibilities. all of them have levels in at least one prestige class and, frankly, are pretty damn scary. the Jedi are basically full-fledged Knights on their first major assignment, and the non-Jedi are about as prominent in their place and time period as Han Solo is in ANH.

i'm also planning on dealing with the changes taking place in the Jedi Order at this time - the shift from a less-centralized Jedi Order centered on individual masters with their praxeums full of apprentices scattered around the galaxy to the more centralized Jedi Order with a permanent Jedi Council based on Coruscant and Dantooine and stricter, more one-on-one instruction (the new Master-Padawan system). i kind of want to run the praxeums like martial arts schools in kung-fu movies, each with a different philosophy and approach to the Jedi path, not all of which appreciate this human pup Nomi Sunrider and her Jedi Council telling them how they should do things. i'm tying this into the forms of lightsaber combat as well, and inventing schools of Jedi combat - sort of close ancestors of the prequel-era forms but with funky kung-fu names and based in different praxeums with different masters.

we currently have five main player characters:

    - a Miralukan Jedi assigned by the Jedi Council to be Watchman of their home sector. she is one of the first Padawans, raised almost entirely on Dantooine, with the last few years of her training in the Temple on Coruscant. very strict, disciplined sort. very driven and inclined to be pro-active with regard to fighting evil - the player has indicated that she sees the character possibly getting in trouble with the Dark Side in that regard. she is a student of the Radiant Sun Dragon School (Form V) and is a Jedi Guardian 5/Jedi Weapon Master 3.

    - an Iktotchi courier pilot/blockade runner. in the time before the HoloNet, if your message absolutely, positively has to be there overnight, you give it to this guy. discreet, fast, and heavily armed veteran combat pilot of a number of small-scale local conflicts turned courier. ridiculously hot pilot but with a sort of scary reputation. Soldier 4/Scout 3/Starship Ace 1

    - a relatively young, impetuous Shi'ido. less detached and pacifistic than most of his kind, enjoys getting immersed in trickery and playing games with non-shapechangers, instead of being content to live among them and observing quietly. likes playing spy games and is currently working for one of the most prominent noble houses in the sector, helping them to consolidate their control over the sector while immersing himself in political intrigue. Scoundrel 4/Changeling 4

    - a Duros Jedi archeologist/explorer/relic hunter/wandering do-gooder. we joke that he's the Jedi version of Lara Croft (JG 3/Jedi Scholar 3/Jedi Weapon Master 2). he's a wandering Jedi poking around the Galactic Rim looking for Jedi treasures to rebuild the wealth of knowledge lost with the destruction of the Jedi Library of Ossus during the Great Sith War a generation before. he is a student of the Swift Celestial River School (Form IV) and distrustful of the Jedi Council's attempts to centralize power within the Jedi Order. expecting to see sparks of conflict fly with the Miraluka, among others.

    - a disgraced Trianii Ranger, framed for treason and forced to flee Trian and live among the other species of the galaxy, bitter and angry and making a living selling her skills to the highest bidder as a freelance commando/spy/saboteur/assassin. currently under contract to the same noble house as the Shi'ido as a c

Heh heh heh, mine's different. Basically, it started about 5 years before Episode IV. Two of the party started as Imperial Naval officers, one was a TIE Interceptor test pilot, the other was his techie. They deserted in their highly modified Interceptor (they built in a hidden "rumble seat" and hyperdrive). After their desertion, they've bounced around, working for the Rebellion on occasion when the pay's good, linking up with a Falleen Crime Lord (no, not THAT Falleen Crime Lord!), a Chadrafan, a Human Jedi, and a couple more misfits and set upon a campaign of thievery, occasional murder, espionage, and pillage with the galaxy as their playground. Until now....

The Jedi, the TIE pilot, and the Farghul Scoundrel are on a mission to infiltrate a top secret Imperial weapons lab. Little do they know that their destiny lies in wait for them in the form of 3 squads of Black Ops stormcommandos bent on one purpose: the destruction of the weapons lab and the death of all witnesses...

The other 4 fare somewhat better, the Chadrafan, Falleen, and Human Soldier/Scoundrel have gotten on Jabba's bad side and are about to be "enlightened" by Jabba's friendly B'omarr monks. The Techie, reading zero telemetry from 5 of the other 6 team members' neural implants (which he secretly installed in them), begins to grow their clones and search for the missing Jedi...

Oh, and by the way, I'm saying that it takes 5 years to grow a stable clone that isn't just nucking futs. The Jedi was incapacitated during the fight with the Black Ops troopers (they were under orders to bring any possible Force users to the Imperial Inquisitors), so she was locked into a medical stasis unit for transport. Well, the Techie managed to find her, but because of her wounds, he is unable to help her until he has gained more expertise in the medical field (and stolen a few 2-1B droids). However, while the clones are growing and the Techie is working to hatch his plans to overthrow the Emperor and ascend to that position himself, the Empire destroys Alderaan (his home planet) and soundly defeats the Alliance at the Battle of Yavin (I'm calling this Star Wars: Dark Times). Now royally pissed off at the destruction of Alderaan, he earnestly begins working on converting a Gallofree Medium Transport into the "Windego," a delightfully devious instrument of death and destruction (based loosely on the better qualities of both the Terran Battlecruiser and the Protoss Carrier from Starcraft). The "Windego" is equipped with pop-up missile turrets, a rare and highly expensive Stygium crystal cloaker, our version of the "Yamato Gun," EMP missile tubes, and a hold full of tiny "drones," small ships little larger than a concussion missile that fly around and rain death and chaos on everything in their path.

    Ok. My campaign...

STAR WARS : TWILIGHT OF THE REPUBLIC.

The story began, simply enough, about a year before TPM. A band of ruthless space pirates held the Caralaan sector (in the Expansion Regions) in a grip of terror; almost all shipping and trade was choked to a standstill. Bel-Aramen Seymour, the Senator for the Caralaan Sector, begged the Galactic Senate to aid his constituents--to no avail, as the Senate was mired in endless debate over the taxation of outlying trade routes (sound familiar?). Seymour, using his political connections, organized a flotilla of starships from the sector's various local defense forces and struck a crippling blow to the pirates. In retaliation, the pirates kidnapped the senator's young daughter, Mari, and held her for ransom. Seymour once again begged the Senate to intercede, but was ignored. Chancellor Valorum, however, did ask the Jedi Council to look into the matter.

Enter the heroes. Judro Bathens, Jedi Knight and his impulsive young apprentice Artems M'Dei, and Judro's fellow Jedi Knight and old friend Moxan D'Jarah. The three Jedi, travelling aboard a Republic cruiser under the command of Lt. Kylara Kevron, were dispatched to rescue the senator's daughter. Forced to make an emergency landing after an ambush by the pirates, the heroes were joined by a Wookiee outcast known only as 'Barrage'. From previous run-ins with the pirates, Barrage had become aware of the location of the pirates' secret lair--and offered to aid the Jedi.

Finally reaching the pirates' hidden base on the remote world of Qartooine, the heroes managed to rescue the girl. The final obstacle was a duel with the pirate lord Dromuk, who (to the surprise of the Jedi) produced a lightsaber and proved himself a dangerous opponent, despite having previously shown no signs of any Force abilities. Dromuk nearly defeated young Artems, but was bested by Master Judro. Further investigation revealed that the pirate lord's prowess seemed to have somehow been provided by his lightsaber--an ancient artifact, deeply tainted by the dark side.

From this humble beginning, the campaign has spanned a dozen years of in-game time. Young Mari succeeded her father as Senator; Artems passed the trials and became a Jedi Knight himself. New Jedi came into the game in the form of Artems' apprentice Troy Sunbeam, Judro's new padawan Widdy Killian, and Moxan's pupil Cuthbert Gilahd. The heroes were also joined by a young girl named Ashla Stardreamer, who had been raised by a reclusive old woman who claimed to be the last survivor of the ancient Bendu religion--training young Ashla in the ways of the 'Force of Others'.

Many dangers and challenges faced the heroes, such as the greedy Mercantile League (a lesser-known faction of the galaxy's commerce guilds, and a competitor of the Trade Federation), the mysterious return of Darth Avernus, a Sith Lord thought dead for a millenium, and even a run-in with the vile gangster Sluggo the Hutt. Mari lost her Senate seat, defeated in an election by a pro-Seperatist candidate (as Count Dooku's influence began to spread)... only to discover, in time, that she was in fact the heir to the throne of Aquilae. Young padawan Widdy Killian was killed by Darth Avernus.

In recent adventures, the heroes have been thrust into the chaos of the Clone Wars, defending Aquilae and the Caralaan sector against Mercantile League/Seperatist forces lead by a mysterious dark Jedi known only as Lady Aerenya. Judro Bathens accepted a commission as Lord Protector of Aquilae and General commanding the Aquilaean Starforce. Troy and Cuthbert eventually became Jedi Knights themselves; Artems, however, has begun to fall under the influence of the dark side... while many of the heroes have had to deal with various shocking revelations--such as Mari's discovery that the cruel Lady Aerenya was, in fact, her long-lost mother (exiled and disowned by her father the King). And to top everything off, Darth Avernus--long believed destroyed--has somehow returned once again to plague our heroes.

as an update on the mandalorians strike back

morris and kyle never made it...

the ship they were on with hymmn-vo was attacked by mandalorian raiders... outnumbered 50-3 the heros went about taking back the ship, with hymmn-vo travelling byhimself and eliminating resistance and morris and kyle working together.

at some point kyle became upset at morris and shot him on stun ((( morris was berating kyle for some foolish tactics, which were well in line with kyles Int score of 8))). kyle then proceeded to drag morris (( who was tied up by this time)) to the head mandalorian and proclim his desire to join them, offering morris as a hostage. the mandalorinas were not convinced, and asked for a show of oyalty from kyle, shoot morris. kyle refused, and then " shoot them... shoot them both "was heard.

needless to say this complicated the night quite a bit .. the rest of the PCs were relying on Morris' contacts in Marlavvas royal guard to help build a force to fight for the new queen. this never happened, and now thousands have died n the coup-de-tat

    Warb null

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.......

Eighteen months have passed since the mandalorians were routed from the planet marlavva. The new queen, syrena, has restored peace and prosperity to her world. However the situation grows grave in the rest of the galaxy. The mandalorian clans seem to have united under common leadership. they have continued their attacks on the republic, pressing entire systems into subjugation. Refugees from planets around the republic head to the capitol world of coruscant...

Meanwhile joku bu has been putting his newfound wealth to good uses, aiding refugees who have come to his homeworld of boleron. As well as increasing the security of the entire sector...

The jedi master hymmn-vo, and his padawan jaice caile have been able to impress upon the jedi order that they must become involved in this war against the republic. Now thousands of jedi knights have entered the struggle to restore peace to the galaxy...

Perhaps the largest threat to peace in the galaxy has been discovered by the lepi space marshall, kerrik. In his search for the whereabouts of the sith lord vahlk, he has discovered that the dark lord has begun plans for a new superweapon, and has taken on a new apprentice, a warrior thought dead since the great sith war...

Ah so I see I have a new idea to the board.

This campaign is meant for a short time period...to be played over a weekend of non stop RPG.

    Set between ESB and RotJ.

A group of aliens all wake up in a room, with no memory. They think the work for the Empire. Actually they don't. The were bounty hunters, but were captured by the Empire, had their memories washed, and were programed to wipe out other alien bounty hunters.

Since the failure of the other alien bounty hunters to get Han Solo/Luke Skywalker, the Empire has decided to "get rid of the worthless scum".

Since its going to be as fast paced game, soon the players have events that bring back parts of their memory, thus doing some power leveling. At the beginning they start off about LVL 4 and move up to about LVL 16. All will eventually remember all their levels and be powerful bounty hunters.

Of course the game is laid out to where they can find out who the Imperial agent is behind their memory wipe and the players get to go after them.

    Dizfactor--

Sorry I didn't answer earlier. The initial adventure, detailed in the previous post, took place in late '99. The game kind of petered out after that due to schedule conflicts.

The game resumed in late 2001, after the group had gotten back together to play D&D. Since we'd gotten back into the habit of gaming regularly, we jumped back into Star Wars as a change of pace from D&D (we currently bounce back and forth between several games--SW, D&D, Wheel Of Time, and a superhero game that started in Champions but is now changing systems to Mutants & Masterminds). It's been running as part of our regular rotation ever since.

BTW, I admit freely that the term 'Force Of Others' is shamelessly lifted from Lucas' early-draft Star Wars scripts (as are concepts like the Bendu, the planet Aquilae and its Starforce/Rangers, etc. etc.).

And I forgot to mention: the mysterious ancient lightsaber that the pirate lord had used was originally built by Darth Avernus, and played a key part in Avernus' ressurection.

I have two 'prequel' campaigns planned that will tie into the current one: one taking place some 5000 years earlier during the Great Hyperspace War, in which we will learn the origins of the Aquilaean Rangers and the title of Lord Protector; the other taking place 1000 years or so before the present campaign (during the last great Sith war, leading to the Battle of Ruusan) and exploring the origins of Darth Avernus. I'm particularly looking forward to the latter, which I intend to run with a very Kurosawa/samurai kind of flavor--the first adventure will be a fairly thinly-disguised remake of The Seven Samurai.

The current campaign will also probably lead into an OT/Rebellion-era game run by one of the other members of the group.

    My current campaign . . . heh.

There is a trio of "adventurers" in the main party: a Trianii Scoundrel/Force Adept, a Nagai Soldier/Martial Arts Master, and a Human Soldier/Jedi Guardian. They've caused their share of mischief, and have racked up a total of about 100,000 credits of bounties from the Empire, a couple of Hutt syndicates and even Black Sun.

Brave fellas, to say the least.

The second party, the "newbs," include a Trandoshan and Wookie, both Soldier/Scoundrels. They're currently being held for questioning regarding some of the mischief the main party caused, as all the evidence points to them. Yeah, the new guys are the only ones who can prove that the other party is responsible for blowing up a garrison on Ord Mantell.

The Nagai (Martial Artist) has actually been framed by a Clawdite for stealing a load of spice, hence the Hutt bounty.

The Trianii is searching for the meaning of his existence in random brawls and drinking matches with Togorians, Gamorreans and anyone who thinks that they've got the stuff.

The Human (Jedi) has decided that he wants to re-establish the Order (not knowing that there are other living Jedi). He plans on following the Weapon Master path to straight Jedi Master when he finally finds a potential student.

Anyway, there's a rogue Prophet of the Dark Side performing bizarre experiments under Jabba's Palace. These experiments absorb the genetic code of whatever they are "hosted" in during gestation.

(The players figured out that these are Xenomorphs in about 30 seconds.)

Anyway, the Nagai is looking for his evil twin, the Trianii is along for the ride and what violence may pass, and the Human wants to set up a new Jedi order. I've agreed with the players that if the newbs get killed - either by the Imperials or by the other players - they can try to start up as 1st level Jedi Guardians under the guidance of the "Master".

    If he lives so long.

I just started a new campaign and it's hilarious. My PC's got kicked out of the military for their incompitance and now they work in a mall (Darth Mall) and all my PC's are workers (even though they are Jedis and soldiers and such) and they go on zany adventures, such as discovering Victoria's REAL Secret, Finding Nemo and destroying him, and trying to find our ship in the parking lot.

My other "serious" campaigne (my PC's are very...um...yeah....) is set during ANH and they go on missions where eventually (whether it's a diplomatic mission or not) blow stuff up. this is why they got kicked out and stuck at the mall. a prequal.

Currently working on the all the background/source material for an upcoming long term campaign. It will take place entirely on a single planet. I'm using the source material on the planet Terra Nova from the Heavy Gear RPG as the basis for this planet since I has a ton of great info on the basic make up of a planet (from geographic layout to cities to population breakdowns... all that great info that can add a ton of flavor to a game and make it believable).

The time period will be set right at the beginning of ANH... specifically when the Senate is dissolved. The planet they are on will have two rival political factions that have been in a "cold war" style face off for decades (if not longer). Once the Senate is dissolved the Imperials will support one side in wiping out the other to seize the valuable resources they have. A blockade will be in effect around the planet to assist the aggressive faction in solidifying control.

There will be 3 PCs playing to begin... one is playing a doctor, another a bartender who is basically a Procurement Specialist with lots blackmarket ties (think of Jean Reno's character Vincent from the movie "Ronin"). The third player hasn't submitted his character concept yet.

The objective will be for the PCs to eventually organize a resistance movement against the ruling faction. As things progress the Imperials will eventually step in and take a more active hand in putting down this rebellion.

The reason the Imperials won't just "Base Delta Zero" the planet is due to the fact that they have a large ammount of valuable natural resources that are needed for the huge military build up the Imperials in the midst of. Because of all that is going in the Galaxy they will leave only enough ships to blockade the planet and a relatively small number of forces at key facilities. The majority of the "evil" forces will be the aggressive factions troops. This is a "cost effective" move for the Imperials... let loyal planetary forces handle things for the time being (until their control starts to slip and the materials being shipped off planet begin to dwindle due to the resistance movement).

Overall this is going to really test the characters and players. They will have to plan and execute an long term resistance movement that will eventually break the backs of those in power. This will include alot of diplomacy in getting various resistance factions to work together, avoiding the authorities, training and equipping those they recruit, not to mention the paranoia of keeping the resistance movement as secure from the enemy as possible.

It looks to be alot of fun overall and the players are really excited to give it a try.
