I love RPG's and puzzle games. The only genre I don't really like is first person shooter. (Mainly because I get motion sickness so easily.)

Mostly shooters and sports. I'll take a dive into an JRPG or RPG once in a while depending on if I have a strong interest in it.

FPS 99.9% .... exclusively on PC as the paddle, on any system, is vulgarly inferior when it comes to FPS gameplay.

    Favorite FPS Games:

    Half-Life 1/2 (Mostly CS/DOD/Team Fortress/GMOD)
    BF2
    BF1942
    SWBFII
    JK2

Sorry, Mr Zap, but I'm asking for game format, not a favourite games topic. You know, racing, shooting, RPG, D&D, adventure, puzzle, that sort of stuff.

Anything with a very deep story...generally RPGs...though I despise the FF and turn based junk of the genre.

Loved KOTOR, loved Diablo, Baldur's Gate.

Most of the Star Wars FPS, Halflife...good story so they worked.

But I also enjoy Simcity...not the Sims...not any of the other "god" games...Just the Simcity series.

BTW...Simcity Societies is an abomination that should be destroyed...I hate you EA.

I know, but I love so many game genres, this is easier for me. Like I said, my favorites out of all of them are probably RTS's.

Jedimarine, KOTOR was turn-based combat that you disliked, but yet a queue of 5 actions could go so fast it was all but realtime.

I'm aware of that...but it wasn't the dreaded "interrupt", drag you onto a "battle screen" type of turn-based...it was practically real time...and as more RPGs move to this form of nearly seamless "rolling"...I will appreciate them more.

Except FF...just the look of those games bothers me.

I think it goes back to the original NES...where I grew up you were a Zelda fan or a FF fan...I was a Zelda fan...and it's slanted my opinion for 20 years.

RPGs and RTS games, the former far more often than the latter. I used to be a big fan of RTS games but now they're too easy for me, one playthrough and all accomplishments achieved, no replayability there. I'm the kind of person who gets seriously bored doing something similar even twice, so I need plenty of variety and replayability.

    Not really ;)

The arcade version was sweet, though mostly due to the controls.

Real-time strategy (Warcraft I, II, III, Age of Empires I, II, III, Empire Earth) used to be my favourite category for the longest time, but recently role-playing games (Diablo II, Titan Quest, World of Warcraft) have stolen the throne. My third favourite is real-time tactics (Commandos I, II, III, Total War I, II). In addition I like turn-based strategy (Heroes III) and any Star Wars game there is (Battlefront I, II, Galaxies, Jedi Knight I, II, III, Racer, Roque Squadron, Galactic Battlegrounds, Empire at War, Knights of the Old Republic), no matter what category. I also enjoy racing games (Formula 1, Need for Speed), ice hockey games (NHL 2003, 2004, 2005) and Grand Theft Autos. I am not very picky when it comes to games... There must be many great games I left unmentioned (like X-COM I, II, Ratchet & Clank series, Call of Duty I, II, Medal of Honor series...).

Currently I am re-playing the Warcraft series (I was pretty young when I played the first two) in order to boost my background knowledge of my favourite game, World of Warcraft.

In my opinion Age of Empires III was pretty good in that sense, because of the card system. It's a nice challenge to try to get them all. Plus there are so many cities, that trying to get all cards with all cities offers many many hours of playing. And then there is the expansion, which offers even more cities.

I like good games. For most of my life I haven't had a console, so I played RTS and strategy games, now I play more FPS and single player RPGs. I got bored of MMOs, and don't like sports games much because I don't like sports.

In a way, yes, but I found the campaign and the time period both to be fairly boring in general. Though I will probably be getting Age of Empires V when it's released, futuristic might be interesting.

I like to play (almost) everything, but my favourite type of game is probably FPS. The Half-Life series, Halo, Battlefront...and now Crysis!!
I also like RPG (KotOR) and RTS (Age of Empires) a lot.

I'm a big fan of RPGs.

Ones with actual role-playing, not action games that happen to be in a medieval setting with swords. Dungeon Siege and other ?Action RPGs? are not in any way, shape or form RPGs. There's no role playing going on. No real characters. Just grab a sword and start swinging. Quite possibly the most tedious kind of game known to man.

Games with actual plots, even if somewhat run on rails, are where it's at.
