I am really enjoying the whole Rand trying not to give in to saidin part of this book. His encounter with Machin Shin is pretty cool!

Oh, and Mat's battle with the wasting over the dagger...very cool!

This is getting good!

Besides, I think Mat could use a little "brushing up" on his Snakes and Foxes skills. They might be needed in the future.

I am still waiting to start The Dragon Reborn. I've asked for all the WOT books for Christmas!

 

I am reading as fast as I can but I dont think I can finish #7, 8, & 9 by the time Crossroads comes out. Thats about 3000 pages in 3 weeks. That might be pushing it.

However I am kind of disapointed. I like to collect books and try to get hardback if possible. I just now found out that the WoT series also comes in harback. Are the new books released in hardback form first?

 

yup. they always release a hardcover first edition. i have them all in hardcover (except dragon reborn and shadow rising)...

 

grrr! i just know cadsuane is somehow going to make rand kneel before the amyrlin, (which will shortly be egwene)!!!

that woman makes me so MAD!

but i guess it has to happen, i believe elaida had a vision about rand kneeling before the amyrlin seat...(too bad its going to be egwene and not elaida! HA!)

 

I really ought to start my post it board to keep track of everything that's going on because I've been reading through this thread and there's quite a bit that I'd forgotten about already.

Anyway...

I'm glad Lan and what's-her-face were FINALLY brought together. I swear I would have throw the book across the room if it had ended with Lan on his way but not getting there until the next book. I still Perrin, and I'm ing Mat too since I've gotten a better look at his character, but Rand needs to be slapped around a bit, and SOMEBODY needs to spank Perrin's wife. Damn what a *****.

But, is it just me, or does CoT just DRAG at points? I'm at the part where it's talking about Arymilla (Elayne's competition for the lion throne) and her supporters, and man... I can't seem to get through this chapter to save my life! **snooze**

 

yea, i just waded through that chapter myself...just gotta keep plugging along.
i think RJ likes to lull us into a stupor and then smack us awake with some momentus event...

 

I got stuck there myself and havent moved on in a few weeks. Of course, I did just become a proud pappa.

 

So What about Perrin??

I think Perrin is pretty darn cool

Espeocially for those who favor the Lupine in us all ...

I just got Crossroads, and have only read 1/2 the prologue, It has been so long, I am having trouble remembering all the minor characters


And I am finishing up Anne Rice's Blood and Gold

 

Well, I managed to make some significant progress in "the chapter" last night. Finally. I actually read for a half-hour before my eyes decided to start sleeping. But did I get through it? Noooo. Now I'm reading about that darkfriend guy that's captain of Elayne's guards. **sigh** I hate chapters that are devoted to minor characters who don't really matter.

P.S. Perrin kicks @$$.

yea, jordan has a tendancy to drag...

at least we learn that elayne is having twins! although i'm not sure that makes up for it...

man, if i have to wade through one more chapter about egwene dealing with, uuh, disagreeable women, i'm gonna send this book into orbit! where's mat when you need him!

considering where i am in the book, this may be old news to some of you...

i totally think that halima is grændal. she looks and acts just like her. and she has got to be the one causing egwenes headaches. every time she wants to pump egwene for info, she causes one of those headaches and then pops it for a "healing massage"...
