FF:NZ When did the original Star Wars open in New Zealand?

    Does anyone know? Someone emailed me to ask this, but all I know is that it was probably released sometime in 1978.

    It was either just before or after Christmas '77.
    I saw it by accident once in an old newspaper I was reading for some research. (Not a SW topic!)
    It would only have opened in one or two centres I would think.
    Hope this helps...

    EDIT: I meant either the week before or after Christmas.

    All I know is that Australia got the movie December 8 1977 so it was probably around that time...
