When did you become a SW fan?

I think I was about Eight years old when I saw the first Star Wars film. I've been a fan ever since.

 

In May of 1977
It was a good summer.

 

Seeing ANH... but not in theatres, in 1990 when I was like 3. My dad is a first time theatre fan, though no where near as big of a fan as I am.

Its not listed above, but what really got me into it again, a couple years ago, when the re-released the OT back into the theatres, remastered with the new touches, and one was released every month for 3 months, ya, that did it

 

aNH was the first one I saw, and I liked it, so I guess that counts.

 

In '79 when the re ran ANH in theaters. I was almost three. LOL

 

I'm showing my age here...ANH. I was only 2 yrs old, but I do remember some parts of it.

 

I remember watching ep4 in the theater with my mom.

 

I became a fan in 1995. I was prowling my local library when I found Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights.

Now, prior to that, I hated SW. It was, I stupidly thought, a crusty old movie with bad effects. Keep in mind, I was only 13 at the time.

Anyway, I saw this book about kids my age, and thought, "Hey, this looks interesting."

Well, I liked the book, and read the rest of the Young Jedi Knights series. But that wasn't enough, so I took my advance level reading self and borrowed every single Star Wars book from the library.

I've been hooked ever since.

 

First time I saw ESB, when I was three. I've never known what it's like not to love Star Wars, actually.

 

I watched RotJ first, for some odd reason. It just happened to be sittin' on the shelf, and I grabbed it and popped it into the player . . . Mommy and Daddy found me later, cowering behind the couch because I was afraid of Scary Lightning Man.

Ah, memories.

 

When I first saw ANH in the theaters in 1977.

 

Seeing Empire on NBC when it was first on tv.

Alas, I wasn't born yet to see any of the OT in theaters... However, I used to watch Return of the Jedi almost every day when I was little, and I didn't even know it was Star Wars!! (What can I say? I was obsessed with the "cute little bears that beat up the guys with Marshmellow colored suits!") However, my parents dragged me to the Special Edition in 97, and I was SO hooked! I think the best part was when ESB:SE came out, at the whole "I am your father part", I yelled out "So THAT'S where that line's from!"

When I was about 8, after seeing the original trilogy on TV. That is when everything that lead up to this point happned.

 

i think i loved SW b4 i saw the movies when i played my my uncle's toys.

 

My wife "taught" StarWars to me in 1995. I've explained it in my Bios here...

 

I was grabbed after seeing "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes back" just sealed the deal for me!!

 

After seeing the SE's in the theatres, I wasn't even born when the orignals came out!

 

I was seven years old and the movie (Episode IV)had just came out two weeks earlier. It was the first movie my parents allowed me to alone to. I missed the first few minutes of the movie. (The popcorn line was way too long). The first part I saw was Vader boarding the ship after the gun battle. So I had to see it again the next day. I was hooked.
