When did you become a SW fan?

The trilogy was on over the course of three nights on TBS, USA, TNT, or something. One of those movie stations. I can't remember. I watched it with my family and was loved it right away. I was around seven or eight. I didn't really get into it until a few years later, when I read Heir to the Empire.

 

I saw A New Hope when I was 11 or 12 and it was on TV...part of a Christmas special. I just loved it from that point on and I have been a SW fan ever since.

 

I suppose TPM, but actually, my brother got the kid's TPM novelization for his birthday. I stole it and read it, and I became hooked.

 

I had watched the STAR WARS movies growing up all the time, but it wasn't until after seeing TPM that they started to become something more that just average.

 

It was 1995, (I was heading into third grade). It was a hot summer day; my grandma and I couldn't decide what to watch, so I put star wars in.

When I went to see ANH SE in theaters for a birthday party. The funny thing was that we were supposed to see 101 Dalmations, but they were sold out. As I look back I say to myself, Thank God it was sold out!

 

i was about 4 and my cousin had these cool toys "Star Wars" used to play around with them when i went to visit him. at that time i hadn't even seen the OT.

 

It wasn't until my mother played ESB on the beta vcr one fateful night in the mid-90s. It woke me up and I came into the living room and on the tv I saw (I didn't know that's what it was at the time) the Millennium Falcon being chased by TIE fighters out of Cloud City. I rewound the tape (she'd fallen asleep) and watched it. I was hooked instantly.

 

I was a VHS fan. Saw it around 1990's or so.

 

Seeing TPM.

 

The moment i saw a the star destroyer at the start of ANH

 

It was seeing ANH. I remember my friends and I used to pretend to be the characters in the film.

 

The second time I watched TPM.

 

Got enchanted seeing a tiny bit of ANH back when I was 7 or 8. Remembered only the droids and a wizard/hermit who taught a boy. Forgot everything about it up till 2000 (or was it 2001?) when I first watched TPM. That was when I was sucked into GFFA.

 

Eh, I became a star wars fan in 1999...

 

When I 4 years old

 

Seeing the Special Edition, and the older versions when I was like 7 or 8 . Posting here only helped to make my love of the films grow even more.

 

WAAAAY back in the dark ages of Carter's presidency, when A New Hope was first released.

 

I became a fanatic in 1998, I was 8 yrs.old. Right after I saw ANH I watched the reast of them almost non-stop for the next month, and time inbetween was spent surfing the net for info!

 

I accidentally saw ROTJ first, so the emotional impact was lost on me. I liked it, but I didn't become obsessed.

Oh no, that happened in 1996 when I read the Thrawn Trilogy. Mmm-hmm. THAT'S what got me into Star Wars seriously, movies and EU.

 

1977... A New Hope... Even if it wasn't called that yet.

 

The first one I remember seeing i was hooked was ESB, then fandom sorta dwindled in the dark years. Now its back harder than ever.

 

TPM was the first Star Wars movie I saw(in 2002)on TV. But I wasn't really hooked until I had seen ANH. So I woted ANH.
