ST When do we see an Episode 8 trailer?

The Episode 7 teaser came out more than a year before the movie. Since Eppy 8 comes out in May of 2017, the same timing would put the teaser circa May of 2016, or roughly six months from now. That feels aggressive but remember when we had to wait 2+ years between movies to get a trailer? Now it could be only a matter of a few months. That makes me happy.

 

Lets get a trailer for Rogue one first.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about that fourth prequel they're making.

 

Has principle production even began for Ep VIII yet? What about full casting?

With only 18 months left, how soon do you suppose the gang gets back to work? I assume Daisy, John, Adam & company will be filming damn near close to back to back to back.

 

I betting first trailer around this time next year when Rogue One comes out.

 

According to wikipedia(I know, I know), principle photography is scheduled to begin in March, 2016. I doubt they'll have enough for a proper trailer by summertime but I'd be willing to bet they'll have enough for a bare bones teaser by July.

 

July is apart of summer though.

 

Yes but there's a big difference between a "proper trailer" and a "teaser trailer."

 

Oh right sorry! I agree that we might get a teaser in June and thats a might.

 

KK said they're getting back to work in January and that Ridley has already read the script. Also, they filmed some scenes already. Love that it's taking half the time to get to the next episode, but that also means it'll be over a lot quicker. Oh well, onto Episode 10, 11 and 12 I guess!

 

I hope they stick to spinoffs after episode 9.

 

We will, until Ridley and Boyega and the redeemed Kylo Ren have aged about 20-30 years. Then it will be them passing the torch to a new set of heroes who are probably infants right now.

 

The first trailer for VIII will be shown with Rogue One. They will use it to help ticket sales.

 

Maybe a teaser at SDCC, in July. I doubt there will be a full length trailer until September at the earliest.

I think the teaser for Episode VIII will be shown at Celebration, with the name being released in May.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see a teaser with Captain America 3.

 

I think we get a teaser for a Rogue One in May (possibly Star Wars day - the 4th) and the first teaser for VIII in July at Celebration. I think we get the title to VIII when principal photography wraps just like we did with TFA.

 

I won't be surprised if things feel a lot faster this time. Like it felt only yesterday that we saw TFA and here we are anticipating the release of VIII. Maybe it's because the whole saga has already been set up and no further delays could likely happen this time.

 

I could see the trailer being released with Doctor Strange or Rogue One.

I don't see a teaser for VIII until Dec 2016 with Rogue One. I know we got a teaser a year out from The Force Awakens, but, that was because it was the first one. People know there's going to be more now, so there's really no need for teaser a year out, the first trailer will be in December. That will start the ball rolling and get fans hyped 6 months out.

We might get the name of it in July, maybe, but most likely around November/December 2016.

 

No way will we get a teaser trailer in a year from now. I'm expecting that to come out around May-September. I think we will get the second trailer for Rouge One and the last one in March.

 

Superbowl teaser then a trailer in front of Beauty and the Beast and trailer #2 in front of a Disney summer tentpole.
