I do one major back-up over the holidays every year. Keeps it simple. If I have important files, they're saved in multiple places as I go.

I have my pictures automatically save on my hard drive and external. Those are the main things that I'd be concerned about loosing.

Generally yes. Thanks for the reminder, though, the external HD I keep videos and photos on has been acting up lately, have been meaning to transfer exerything to a second drive, then do a clean wipe of the drive and put everything back.

I have most of my stuff backed up on a 500GB drive. I haven't done it for a while though, so recent pictures will need to be saved onto it

I back up my media (pictures, music, film) periodically on to external hard drives. I'll do another set when I return from this trip.

One back up is kept away from my house at my parent's place in the event of fire. Paranoid possibly but it seems sensible to me.

I'm hereby going to name my hard drive "dat ass." That way my computer will ask me if I want to "back dat ass up."

My old computer crashed a couple times, and I learned to back up the important files. Now that I"m not in school and writing papers, my laptop is mostly non-work-related, so there's nothing on it I would be heartbroken about losing.
