When refering to soft drinks do you say...

Some friends and I are having a debate on weither you should say soda, coke, or pop. So I thought that I would get your opinions. I personally say coke

 

I refer to whatever the drink is named. I NEVER say coke. My dad works for pepsi, so drink that is pretty much a sin in our house.

 

LOL That would be close enough to a sin But when you are just generalizing what do you say?

 

I personally say coke my self.... All that southern influence kicking in.......

 

Coke no matter what brand, all soft drinks are cokes down here.. my relatives from Michigan say Pop though...

Scene exp.

My mom asks me to go get her a "coke" I say "What kind?" she says "Diet Dr. Pepper."

 

I switch between Coke (the only carbonated drink I drink) and soda.

 

I will drink almost anything except diet. heh

 

I say coke unless talking about the Elixer of the Gods known as Mt Dew. Which is odd b/c I like Pepsi more than Coke.

 

I call Mt. Dew by it's name too... I also like pepsi more than coke, I've just grown up with coke and never had anything else so I love Pepsi products.

 

I'm trained by the marketing folks to call each by its name, and around here we like our Dr. Pepper
