P.Rico When where we supposed to be born?

This thread is made for those people that ever said the phrase: "This is not my time" or "I should have been born in some other time......"

Ever had that question? The existencial dilemma of when was your time? or What where you before? Yes these thoughts plague our humanity in so many ways that its scary.

So basing yourself in your current habits and likings what do you think you where? or Should have been in any time frame.

In my case I think I would have been either a Polar Bear (cause I like meat, I love swimming, and I like the cold). Probably a savage man or a barbarian (never a knight, my ways are rather unorthodox) or even maybe a powerful hateful warlord that mistreated all of the people in the lands and had a horrid tolerance towards people who drew or portrayed any artisticness. (that would explain my life for now as a punishment. Strongly demoted if you ask me..) Any which way I couldnt of have been someone great, probably a blacksmith with some fighting skills or something. Still I think I should have been born in the times where Blade and axe ruled the lands, when you where measured by skill and survival instincts. Yep that would be the time.......

 

Well I often think that I should have been born in Victorian England. Experience first hand the fear and the morbid facination brought to the populus by Jack the Ripper. And to be horrified by the funny little thing they call the Darwin's theory of evolution.

I also think that I should have been born in Middle Earth o the Star Wars universe. Because those are places where heroism counts , and changing the world is possible.

 

i'm a very technological person, and lots of times i wonder about how the distant future will be.

we are right now at the peak of the civilization, and every day we see more and more advancements in every field... damn it, i want to see the flying cars we were promised.

so if i have the chance to choose the time i'll be re-born, i'll probably choose somewhere in the mid 5000's in the distant future...

 

A mi me encanta la epoca medieval.
Esa epoca de Knigths y batallas por las tierras. Estilo Braveheart o Excalibur.


Personalmente, seria un placer conocer en persona a Satanas, Lucifer, Devil, o como quieran llamarlo.

 

Yo concuerdo con Tumbark. Tambien prefiero el frio al calor (siempre he sido más de bosque y montania que de playa y arena).
Tambien prefiero los modos simples a la tecnologia y la comodidad. Considero las armas blancas más nobles que las armas de fuego.
Cualquier clan de las montanias me acomoda, aunque quiza en vez de bárbaro, debi haber sido Dwarf!

 

Una vez, pensando sobre este mismo tema, me di cuenta que en realidad yo hubiese "fit in" mejor en el mundo de haber nacido en el año 1970, y de esa manera hubiese estado en el mundo de los video juegos y los RPGs desde sus comienzos. Sin embargo, no tengo remordimientos de haber nacido en el 1983... I'm glad I was an 80's kid.

Pero claro, si hubiese nacido en Middle Earth, entonces de seguro que hubiese estado al lado de Gandalf o los elves.

 

Bueno, al igual que Lucidus, creo que me hubiese gustado nacer en los 70s cosa de haber vivido mis "teenage years" en los 80. Aunque no puedo quejarme, naci en el 80.

Aunque vivir en los tiempos medievales hubiese estado brutal.

 

De yo aber nacido en Middle Earth , yo hubiese sido:

1- Uno de los Elfos que pelearon bajo el mando de Elrond durante la primera batalla por el anillo.

2- Unos de los Rangers del Norte.

benoyo como a mi me encanta tambien las epocas medieval pero mas me encanta la epoca romana, pero mi atraccion mas es la epoca japonesa medieval cuando se avia el honor ya que eso ya no se ve. me encantan las espadas de todas epocas pero mas me atraen las romanas y las katanas.

creo y me considero un samurai por mis gusto a las artes marciales especialmente a el kempo,akido,kobudo.

 

YO estoy perfectamente comodo en la epoca que naci...vivi en los 80 lo suficiente como para conocer el atari, coleco... y gracias a mis primas... la musica. ahora en los 90, creci oyendo las bandas cuando MTV era MTV!!! hahah y mi pubertad...
y el 2002... turn of the century/millenium... y me imagino que vivire hasta los 2050 tantos... que vere por lo menos el comienzo de el siglo proximo al siglo de mas progreso humano en la historia del universo conocido... ME ENCANTA haber participado de el siglo 20...

 

Pablo's words speak true. I agree with him 100%. Specially that MTV part. I loved those grunge slacker days.

 

I like being born in the 70's. All the cool stuff started getting invented then.

Epoca medieval suena cool. . .lo que no suena cool es un life expectancy de 35 años.

Epoca Victoriana era muy reprimida para mis gustos. . .


Me hubiese gustado los 50's o el futuro lejano.
