Right now I have some more stuff to do until I can call it a night, but I hardly can keep my eyes open. Normally I would do something more active first, but all things left needs to be done on the computer. So...

What is your suggestion that might help me stay awake until all things are done?

And what are you doing in such a situation?

If it's cool outdoors I walk outside for a few minutes, but without a jacket.:p That usually wakes me up.

It really depends on what you need to do. In some cases, I don't procrastinate, meaning that I won't have a time crunch later.

Connie, that one might have worked. It's really cold outside. But sadly I fall asleep before I saw your post. :( :p

More ideas? For the next time? ;)

Popcorn. Eating keeps me awake, and popcorn is a good thing that you can eat with one hand while using the other.

Indeed eating helps. It's just that one gains weight by eating too much. :(

Tomorrow I'll have to work on the same thing again and if I get close to falling asleep again, I'll follow your suggestions. Let's see what helps the best. Of course taking a nap will be the last option. :p

I don't find that eating helps you sleep at all. Actually, eating too much supposedly makes it harder to sleep.

Ice down the shirt. That works. Or smash your hand with a hammer. That way you will be in too much pain to fall asleep.

I need my hands. Mister, I hope you won't be sad, if I don't try that. :p

That's why I suggested popcorn, if you don't put extra butter, salt or sugar on it it's a lot better than sweets or crisps. Sure not totally healthy, but if it's just a matter of an evening I think it's ok.

That's true. And I wouldn't think of living just of popcorn. Although... with suger... [face_thinking] I just love sweets. [face_blush]

Caffine, carbs, and background noise. Art student staple for those long, LONG nights that end at 3pm when your project's due.

Hm... I would say listen to music, turn on a lot of lights, and eat a sandwich.

    Usually works for me.

Listen to obnoxious music, like those annoying chipmunks... Stand up, do a small dance or exersize to wake you up, pain does help... Find something really urgent to think about, for example; "Oh no! I posted nine times! I was supposed to post eleven times!"
