When You Were A Newbie - Which Member Was The First To Stand Out?

Everyone here was new at one time or another. So which other member was the first to stand out and catch your attention? Whose name did you notice over and over again? Who did you think, "He/She's pretty cool..." or "What a jerk..."?

For me, I think I noticed Darth Eric replying to alot of threads, usually being pretty hard on people. I thought he was kind of cranky, then I realized why once I started seeing how redundant things can get...

And then there was Creepio, who back when TPM was about to open, seemed to start even more threads than he does now...

For me it was Padme 1 Kenobi! now theres a girl!!!

some others were JediSoul/Zephir/SoK

 

Probably Preacherboy, everyone was (and still is for that matter) always screaming at him.

 

Jasman, definately. Except at that time it was Jasman the ____. I don't remember exactly but it wasn't plain Jasman. Anyone know the rest of his name back then?

 

Hmmm. Maybe it was someone else that changed their username. I can't remember exactly when I started using the JC.N. No, it was March this year. I changed usernames because my first one was dumb. Most people's first usernames are though.

Son of Kenobi and MCW both showed me the ropes, and for that, I'll always be grateful...there are many others that I noticed at first, but those two stand out...

 

He's always been plain jasman.

Except for that short period where he changed his name to master jas.

As for the topic, the Senior Members and the Admins were the first to stand out when I was a newbie. Not one of them in particular, but all of them.

 

For me it was JediMaster. The big thread at the time was his X-Wing Bashing at the Lit. forum. And of course there was always jasman. He just seemed to have more a grasp on everything and was well respected.

 

When I first joined, jasman was on the receiving end of a lot of crap. I gotta admit that impression of him still kind of sticks with me, no matter how fair and decent an admin. he's proved to be in the meantime...

Fist started lurking back in May.

jasman was the first one I ever saw others talk about but I did not actually see him around much back then.

Preacher Boy and Son of the Sons were the first that I heard others complain about. (sorry guys but it is true)

Gray Leader and C Creepio were the first to make me laugh.

Quaff Down Ginn was the first to make me mad but I soon learned he was a cool guy. (those were busy days for bashers)

I honestly did not pay attention to usernames until people started addressing me by my name. Then I felt like I was welcome.

 

Look_Sir_Droids . . . or his name was something like that . . . chewed me out for creating a hello thread. Lol!

Ahhh . . . the olden dayz . . . *looks accusingly at the Junior Member title . . . *

 

Either C Creepio or Modal+Nodes+ Freak.

 

Three names come to mind: ObiWannaCracker, jasman, and David_43.

 

I don't remember. I don't think anyone in particular stood out to me. I just jumped in and started posting. And, well, here I am.

 

But Zas the "~" make it so pretty its worth it!!!!!!!!

He seemed to have things under control and that fatherly figure thing going on. I miss him now- he's not here as often.

 

It was all Creepio. When Phantom Menace came out, Star Wars was all I thought of at work. I was thrilled to discover other people across the country sitting at their job, wanting only to write and day dream Star Wars.

Then I knew; I had a new slacking home.

 

C Creepio, because he always had those "200+ post" threads going.

Hutts Can't Run, because that name always sent me into giggles.

jasman, because I think he's the only person on these boards who's older than me ! (Yikes! I'm probably gonna get banned now.... )

 

For me, it took months for anyone to stand out, and even now, I only bother remembering about five of you.

 

I don't know if members stood out to me as much as names did.

Definetly Gray Leader. He is why I registered. I wanted to be his #1 man, and was, so I registered and named myself for him. Does anybody know if he is here under a new name?

 

Darth Derringer stood out for me, as well as those members he endlessly argued with (The Phantom Annoyance, etc.). I'm saddened that he is not around anymore (he may be here -- I just don't see him), but I'm also surprised he lasted as long as he did, what with all the energy he expended and the countless threats to ban him.
