When You Were A Newbie - Which Member Was The First To Stand Out?

The first person that stood out to me was DArthSapient. This was in his pre-mod days.

 

Liz Skywalker, Jotun Denal and Mace Windy...of which I only ever talk to one anymore...its sad

 

When I first came here around 98-99, Chyren stood out the most to me

 

In the UBB period it would have to be IWMIL

 

The first that stood out were thxDarth, Missninfan, and Vader. Oh, and probably Storm5 and Ewan-Kenobi.

thxDarth took offense in return to my taking offense, to his correcting me in a line-by-line thread, where I posted in error due to a slight technical misunderstanding. Instead of expressing his displeasure personally, he created a sock called ShaddowHunter and started flaming me in various places with it. He proved to be a scumbag, as all Starbuckians will know.

Missninfan, quite a noticeable person, was the one who responded to my query about the identity of the sock, and posted telling the Starbuckians to stop newbie-bashing me. This of course was when she had a picture visible, which of course made an impression, and many of those late May and June nights were spent attempting to make an impression her. I thought she thought I was OK, but she stopped answering my PMs about when she stopped appearing publicly.

Vader, of course, tends to attract attention, as a Swedish historian with his own version of Star Wars- that George Lucas' films are propaganda, and Vader himself (not just Anakin Skywalker) is a good guy/hero, and the Empire is good and superior to the Republic. He also has constructed his own costume, out of materials apparently superior to those used in the movie costumes. We locked horns early on in the How is the Empire Evil thread in CT.

Storm5 created a group known as the Lightsiders, but eventually, when many members left, stopped running it, which is when I came along and reorganized the group into what it is today and has been since April 2001. It became my purpose on the JC, so definitely he made an impression on me.

Ewan-Kenobi was a member of a rival group but I always felt that he was good and I could trust him. He is still an ally.

 

The first people to stand out to me here were Porkins in a Speedo, DUSHONI, AmazingB and B'omarr. Those guys sure do know how to have fun.

And of course Darth_AYBABTU, who is the first person I've found here that thinks pretty much the same way I do.
