Where are all the toilets?

I was just wondering. After all that analysis and speculation over on the E3 forum, I just started to wonder and I can't stop now. Where are all the toilets in Star Wars? We saw them in Space Balls. So how did Lucas miss this vital detail?

Ive OFTEN wondered how Lord Vader "goes."

Maybe he doesnt have those...uh...parts anymore. You know, after his accident.

(Not THAT kind of accident, the one where he got his injuries.)

The first time that a toilet was heard on television was on "All In The Family" in the '70s.

My point? There were quite a few years of television before that, with no toilets seen or heard. Just because we haven't seen one doesn't mean that they don't exist.

 

Also, would you really like seeing Grand Moff Tarkin on the crapper?

I was also thinking if Darth Vader ever goes to the toilet. Anyways they are movies.

 

That was my position until Independence Day had to ruin my illusions with the Will Smith toilet scene.

 

The toilets are just behind the set, for the convenience of the actors and the crew. That's a guess of course.

actually the same problem occurs in Star Trek. after four series completed, one still going, and 10 movies, there has never been shown the lavatory on any ship, station, or planet. the closest is in Picards dream from Star Trek: First Contact, where he uses the sink in his washroom.

Maybe we have seen the toilets, but in the future (on both series) they are unrecognizable.

 

The Emperor has made a critical error in the DeathStar design. There is only one toilet on the entire base....
