this picture as wallpaper. For some reason, it's my favourite still from the Star Wars aga. It was on the back on the original ROTJ Panini sticker album, and I just love it! I used to have the mousemat with this picture, and It's also on the SW monopoly board, but I want a decent quality version for my desktop. Any ideas?

EV Edit: Locking for two reasons. Question answered. Other reason? Read the last post. ;)

The Multimedia section has a good one (I remember it from making a "button" for our webspace...

It is in Images -> Classic Trilogy -> Starships -> Millenium Falcon -> ROTJ

Follow Indigo's directions and I'm sure you will find the pic you are looking for. TF.N probably has the best selection of SW pics on the net.

    You could always just :

    -right click on the mouse
    - go to where it says "set as background"

The thing is he wants a higher quality pic for the background. In which case he would need a new pic.

Well, you could wait until 2004 and just grab a screencap of the DVD! :D

That's what I do for backgrounds now... Just use my TPM, AOTC, and LOTR DVDs. :)

Yeah, I've got several screen caps rotating automatically for my desktop background. One of the many things on my "to do" list over the holidays is to get more screenies from my new Indy and TTT dvds (and maybe a few others as well). :)

How do you do the screen captures? I'll watch a dvd on my laptop and hit print screen. I would then paste it into MSPaint and the odd thing is, MSPaint is then playing the dvd. Am I doing that wrong?

    Edit: Paint not notepad. :p

    Yeah...

You have to use the DVD program itself to take the screencapture.

I use "Cyberlink PowerDVD" on my compuer (it came with the computer) and it has a special button for "Take Screencapture." It's actually a really great feature and pretty versatile. :)

I'm sure a few other players might have that option, though.

That's caused by overlay. The DVD program produces a colour block (usually pink) and overlays the DVD image on that. If you Print Screen, you copy the colour block, and not the DVD image, hence in Paint when you paste the colour block, the DVD program uses that to display the DVD

Thanks for the clarification on the MSpaint and screen shots.

I use InterActual as my program. Now to figure it out. I have a lot of X-Files dvds that are begging to make it to a background.

As far as I know, WinDVD (some versions) and PowerDVD are two software players that will do screen captures. Interactual Player doesn't do it IIRC.

Oh, and JohnWilliams00 is right... Interactual doesn't. :(

Yeah, I read it. But I was hoping not to have to download anything once I found out how to do it with IA. That apparently is not the case. :(

**Hobbles off to download a decent player** :p

    Illegial?

You mean they are not shareware?

    Awww, sithspit! :(

I just checked and you are right it is not free. For some reason I was thinking it would be like Winamp, Real Player, etc. My bad. :(

Blarg! I don't know what I'm thinking tonight. Damn finals rotting my brain. Hmmm, it could be playing videogames for a long time, which was rotting the brain. Yet videogames are my friend and do not rot the brain!

Edit: I might as well go back to my game, since I won't be getting any screen shots anytime soon. Damn you IA for not doing screen shots!

Yeah, PowerDVD and WinDVD are retail software.

Now, if you know where to look, and if you have something called bittorrent, you can bend the rules, if you know what I mean. ;) ;) ;)

Thanks for the clarification. If I had known that those programs cost money, I never would have initiated that conversation. I'm going to lock this now for two reasons, the first is the question is answered and the second, well you know why. :p
