Where did all the snakes from "Raiders" go?

I was watching "Raiders of the Lost Ark" the other day. I read (in a special effects book) and saw in the "Behind the Scenes" DVD that they got every available snake in England for the huge underground scene. The documentary goes on to mention how they did it but never mentions how they got rid of all of those snakes.

Any thoughts?

 

Haven't seen what you're referring to, but presumably snake handlers know how to get their guys rounded up... I just hope they remembered to mark whose was whose before throwing them all together.

I don't think "every avaliable snake" meant that they emptied the entire countryside.

They got every snake avaliable for hire and when filming was over the owners took their snakes with them home.

 

One can only imagine that they are now starring in Mace Win...errr, Samuel L. Jackson's upcoming feature, Snakes on a Plane.

 

Hey, SOAP means a job for every snake in Hollywood.

 

I don't mind snakes in particular; but spiders?

 

I heard they employed St Patrick to drive the snakes out of the set.

 

They won't shoot in Ireland then, obviously.

 

They moved to the United States and now serve in congress.
