Where did they come from?

The everlasting question and mystery to all types of existence: where did we come from? Who made us? And are they still here?

I've always wondered if all the sentient, intelligent species of the Star Wars galaxy came from elsewhere, outside the galaxy. If so, who were they?

Will the EU ever cover this topic?

 

I would, if I was penning one of those pulpfiction lollies. Have you thinking one thing, introduce a nastier one midbook, then fake it all by the end. An end that just slips enough whispers in to have you guessing yourself again. But such complexity is rare here, an oasis on a distant desert horizon, only it's a holo after all, and someone will be along presently to ask me to explain all that again.
