I saw this subject posted on another board so I decided to brin it here. Its a fun 'show and tell' type subject! Join in people!

"What are some of the best and/or outrageous places you have worn any of your prop costumes at? (For ex: ordering food while at fastfood, malls, school, etc) "

The above question was asked by a user on another forum on ezboard.

Below is my account of events I've attended.

My first appearance in my Stormtrooper Armor was
at my technical school (PTI) where I decided to just say 'Heck with it' and wear it to my classes all day. I accidently walked in on a complete and total staff meeting. I thought I was going to be in some serious crap. To my suprise and happiness all the teachers applauded me.

My outfit wasnt exactly 'finished' as far as working out the bugs in its wearablity or having boots for it but it was a lot of fun. My one instructer tried the helmet on and eveyone was pretty nice about it. All the nay sayers kept thier traps around me if there were any.

    ---------------------------
Second appearance was at the Pittsburgh Comicon in 2000. I was the only Stormtrooper there and the crowd mobbed me wanting pics with me every few steps! It was a tremendous amount of fun. Thank goodness for my tinited Stormtrooper helmet lenses or I would have seen spots all day. I met Shannon Baksa for the first time (check me out in her scrap book if you ever meet her) and had a great time.

    Third Appearance
    ------------------------
I walked around the treats of the small town I live near and people were very friendly and were VERY suprised at my voice amp on the day the town reserved as the official 'trick or treat night'.

    4th Appearance-------
After that I appeared at a Halloween party that saturday the 31st (i think) at the local bar. I don't drink and don't smoke so I had no problem staying sober and in character (no offense to anyone). I could sit in my armor also. People enjoyed my armor ane myself and my brother (who wore my homemade vader) would have won the costume contest (according to the owners of the bar ) if we hadn't left early.

After that, my 5th appearance was at the Pittsburgh Comicon for the second time. This was a amazing event as I tired my best to gather together other 501st members to attend! We escorted the guests and stood on stage during the Q & A session and we also made a quick trip to the Monroeville mall in our armor!
The guests were Michonne Bourriague (Aurra Sing), Paul Blake (Greedo), Shannon Baksa (Mara Jade), Garrick Hagon (Biggs Darklighter) and Richard LeParmentier.
All of them were very friendly individuals and if they were putting up a front of fake friendliness they should win oscars! LOL I do not believe they were faking thier friendly attitudes at all.

See the site for pics http://www.501steasternsquad.com

My sixth appearance/event was so great!

Myself and other members of the 501st Eastern Squad went to Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh to greet the kids and hand out toys. The amount of toys that were gathered boggled my mind as I set the 4 'Epic force' troopers I brought to contribute on the table.
The many toys were Star Wars Beanie babies, Action figures galore! and a whole lot more! It was a great event and the kids were awesome! We were not allowed to take photos of the children for privacy reasons and we respected that. The pictures on http://www.501steasternsquad.com are only of the toys and of Zippy and Jeff. Also they gave all of us cool Childrens Hospital Teddy Bears to thank us. I'd do it again in a second!

    Thats all for now!

2nd apperance local Firehall had a costume party and my Fett costume went to public for the 1st time, No prizes won but a lot of smiling kids.

3rd apperance School Halloween Dance- Bobba Fett again people kept knocking on my helmet. First expiernce at having hot glue melt while wearing it. Also tried to dance in costume lots of laughs

4th apperance Comic Con 2001- Only Fett that day lots of picture were taking of me and my buddy I dragged along So i wouldn't run into anybody. Had a really great time down there. Even got a free drawing of me one of the artist doodled out after seeing me walk around.

Future appearnces? You betcha I even plan on going to my senior prom in 2004 in costume. By then who knows what I'll be wearing.

First public appearance in Jedi garb: Salem Mass. at Halloween. Despite hundreds of other people dressed up in incredible costumes, I did have some people comment on my Jedi Robes.

Next outting, Halloween party. Had some very non-SW people ask me what I was. Sigh, infidels.

That's it, really. Kinda boring, I'm afraid.

I'm kicking around the idea of wearing it when I go to Toledo on Aug. 15th with the Steel City Jedi Knights road trip to see the Magic of the Myth Exhibit (shameless plug of trip) Say, wouldn't that be a great opportunity for you all to wear your cotumes ;)

It IS a great opportunity, in fact. Opening weekend in Toledo was awash with costumes. We encourage you to come in costume...

...but be aware that full-face masks or helmets that cover your face wont be allowed to be worn in the Museum itself. Among other reasons, its a big safety concern, for yourselves, for others, and for the works of art.

    Otherwise, knock yourselves out!

Down at the theater the employees had to dress up in costumes, and I wore my Obi Wan Jedi costume. Alot of people loved it, including the security guards. I was surprised with how many people new exactly that I was Obi Wan Kenobi. One guy even looked at me and said "Luke, I am your father.."
