Do you mean digital sound? If so I think all the Village and Hoyts cinemas have it.

Am I missing something here, or are there now digital projectors or something?

You must mean digital projectors right? Nah i dont think anywhere in Melbourne would have em. But i do know that Village Bourke st has THX.. BUT their not allowed to screen the midnight session of AOTC due to an agreement with HOYTS just across the street.

SO guys is it CHAPEL or HOYTS?

Is the best place to see the movie at Hoyts in the city? What about Chadstone? Or anyof the Village like Southland or Chapel? I haven't been to the city cinemas for ages.

    AHHHH! Another Hawk! :p

Southland's pretty good, but not really central enough for us Vic FFers to meet. If we meet anywhere, it'll be at a city cinema.

On TheForce.net they have a link to a site that tells you all the digital projection equiped cinemas in the world. Australia doesn't have any. Doh!!!

    Check it out here:

Anyone seeing it at Highpoint at midnight??! :)

geelong village is ok. Their big cinema is a little far away from the screen tho.

I saw LOTR there. I was in the upper deck.

My favorite cinema is number 1 or 2 at reading cinemas chirnside. They are only a few months old and have really nice high angled stadium seating.

Plus that are only 5 mins from home :)

    I agree with Koops

Number 1 cinemar upstairs at Readings of Chirnside Park. I haven't been in two yet but will get around to it. No 1 has a huge screen.

Cooloola: ever watched a movie from their regency(regent? i forget) class yet? I havn't but from the looks of it i'd say the normal seating would almost be better! The angle at which you look from the lower level seems to high, I suppose if you are reclinded back that it might be the perfect angle.

On behalf of all of us who are yet to get tickets, I would like to say the following:

    You Bastard. :D

I'm ringing up Village tomorrow, I can't wait any longer, I must gather my forces and see how many tickets I need to book...
