Go up North to the Strath Bogie Ranges. I don't know how much it would cost. Just go up through Wittlesea and keep driving until you get to Yea. On the way you'll go through some nice Forest. Yea's about an Hour and half out of Melbourne.

You could also try the Yarra Valley.

The Canadian Forest right here in Ballarat. Plenty of bush here. There is even an abandoned school with lots of bush around it. It's not that far from Melbournne, though it depends what side of Melbourne you are on.

Good to see the fan film cliched location of 'forest' is alive and well.

Does it realy need to be a forest? It'd go some way to setting your fan film apart if you used something a bit different.

Scott's right. Why not a snowy planet? It's the right time of the year after all.

As much as i have thought about making it in the snow, beach and sea or whatever, how much money would it cost?

Its a school movie, not a blockbuster film or any thing.

The Forest is cheap and easy to get to.

Yeah, keep in mind that fan films are on a VERY tight budget and generally need to use whatever scenery they can afford, like we're doing. Forest planets are used because forests are the most abundant around suburban areas. As for the snow idea, it costs at least $20 to go to Mt Baw Baw for the day per car, and it's hard to avoid getting people in the shots. If forests are all you have, then it's what you have to use.

Hey Kitey, There are some really secluded spots near Beaufort (just past Ballarat). Lots of Mountains, open grasslands, tunnels and jungle locations etc.
