Mary Where is everyone from in MD, and when is there going to be a meeting?

Well, seems like there is little fanfare for the idea of an official meeting. I'm all for an unofficial meeting, though, if anyone else is. Hang out, shoot pool, play darts, coffee, drinks (for any of you "of age" members who like to imbibe every now and then), etc. Whatever's clever.

 

If it's within a two-hour to two-and-a-half hour radius of me, I'm game for it.

 

What is within 2.5 hours of you? Towns, attractions, etc. I know you live in GC, but I don't know exactly where in GC. Post in here what's good for you - in fact, if everybody would post, definitively, what is acceptable travel wise, in both distance and time, that would be a big help. Like I said before, I don't mind driving, I do it all the time, so it really hinges on you guys.

 

I'd have to limit my travel right now to nothing beyond Gaithersburg/Rockville [I do know that area well--lived in Germantown for six years], but prefer Frederick--right where 270 comes off of 70. That's a 2.25 hour drive for me, plus or minus.

 

An unofficial meeting sounds alright to me. I wouldn't mind driving up to Frederick again; it's only about an hour away.

When would everyone like to have it?

That's up to you guys. Like I said, my schedule is pretty hectic, and its alot easier for me to work stuff in than it is to plan around it.

Seriously, I don't drink beer (yes, I'm wierd). But I take full advantage of the hard stuff, particularly the 7&7 and Jack and Coke.

The weekend of the 13th is definitely out of the question for me, unless its held later on Saturday night. I'll be down at the beach Friday night/Saturday morning/afternoon, but if it's Saturday night I'll drive up to Frederick that afternoon.

This weekend might be doable for me.....I'll have to check and make sure I don't have anything else on the agenda. What day?

 

Saturday would be best for me, but Friday would be alright too.

I would assume so. You can mapquest it, that's what I'm doing.

If we (the MD FF) do end up doing this, I need to know so I can make arrangements for myself.....chances are if we're going to a bar, I'm gonna need to get a hotel room (so that I don't have to drive back HarCO intoxicated).

Here's my suggestion: Anyone in favor of going to Champs in Frederick for a little meet-n-greet this Saturday afternoon/night, please post your intention by stating "I" in a post today. Once we figure out how many we have (and whether its worth doing with that number), we will figure out a time.

There's a Hampton Inn and a Comfort Inn both within walking/stumbling distance from Champions. My earlier post in this thread is a map where Champions is located, btw.

Moving furniture and dinner with the parents-in-law-to-be on Saturday, so I can't make it folks. Sorry... Friday would work though.

Take heart, however, because unless more people want to go, there may not be a get together this weekend, and we'll have to reschedule for another time.
