Where on your ranking of SW films does AOTC stand?

As it stands today, even though I think Revenge of the Sith will be the best:

A New Hope
Attack of the Clones
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace (not a reflect of my opinion on the film...it's just that it's the first chapter)

Still, I love these films as one. But I got a hunch about Revenge....

 

ROTS will be best,but for now AOTC is my favorite.

Today it is third... Usually it is second.

 

I voted 2nd place.

However, I could've voted 1st, and not felt bad about it at all.

Deciding between ESB and AOTC isn't easy for me.

Heck, sometimes I think ANH is better than ESB, yet AOTC still manages to stay in 2nd no matter what

 

Honestly, I think it's my second favorite after ESB. I feel badly for rating it higher than RotJ, because I lub both ESB and RotJ, but what can you do. I think AotC does a better job of creating tension that RotJ does and uses the plot elements it has to work with far more successfully.

AOTC is a much more serious movie than ANH (very flash gordon-like) and deals with important questions: the limits of democracy, the usefulness of war, etc.

 

I voted on which movies I find myself watching the most. I just love Darth Vader's redemption, but then I love seeing Young Darth Vader too. But Redemption scene wins out.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so highly of AOTC.

Although I actually like all of them. I'm also looking for ROTS to be some epic film-making. I have a sneaking suspicion that will top my list.

1st place

 

Well, I love all five movies pretty much equally, but I do admit to enjoying some a bit more than others. As my sig says, currently it's:

1. ESB
2. AotC
3. ANH
4. TPM
5. RotJ

At the moment I seem to be watching TPM more than any other for some reason, although I know overall, it's probably my fourth favourite. I guess it's just that I enjoy the tone of certain movies more than others. I love the feeling in AotC of this inevitable doom - it's not pitch-black dark, but there's this wonderful atmosphere of things heading that way, with the music and the visuals (lots of sunsets!), and everything. Everything builds up slowly then BANG, it's the Clone War right at the end, and with the last two scenes, you get the feeling that things are going to go VERY badly wrong in the next movie (a wedding is supposed to be a happy event - not in AotC). I have a feeling, though, that RotS will be wrestling with ESB for top spot, and I can see AotC possibly being moved down into third. It's so hard to choose between them, though - like I said, I love all five, and each has its strengths and weaknesses.

 

I tend to elevate ESB and RotJ, so AotC is basically in a tie for third (I can't separate ANH, TPM and AotC).

 

Switch ROTJ with AOTC, and I agree (I can't really separate TPM, ANH, and ROTJ).
