Where should the Star Wars game franchise go next?

I think I also have a great idea for a star wars game, R2 unit Unleashed, you do nothing but fix ships, shoot oil slicks, and use your tazer on little green aliens...?

Think about it, how awesome would it be to see that annoying little Kowakan Monkey Lizard zipping all around Jabbas Palace, annoying the crap out of Bib Fortuna and getting away with it, or maybe throwing monkey-lizard feces at the Rancor or better yet The Gamorean Guards. When Jabbas pet is smarter than Jabbas guards, it's a sad sad day under the Twin Suns.

I would like to see a game set during the Vong war.

A new and better version of Masters of Teräs Käsi would be awesome, but the fighting game has been mentioned already.

At least if it were in the Vong war, there could be lots of saber-on-amphistaff fighting. Lucas Arts wouldn't have to keep making up darksider/dark jedi/ hordes of force-using senate guards.

And thus never happen. Don't get me wrong, I love playing as Jedi, but I'd bet a game based on the most popular character in the saga would sell very well.

Has anyone heard whether or not TFU is projected to overtake Battlefront II in regards to the best selling SW game of all time? I would be great if it didn't. I've unleashed enough force for a while. I don't need a sequel. But Battlefront III and/or another non-jedi game would be awesome. Han Solo open world game would be a dream.

They should do something like that only with Han and Chewie.

It was a spin off of the Wing Commander series before they went to live action cut scenes with Luke in them.

It was basically a space fighting simulator with a huge galaxy you could warp around in. It came with a fold out map and you could either follow the wing commander like story or just fart around in the galaxy shipping things legal and otherwise.

You'd get to a planet and would be able to buy and sell goods as well as take jobs and stuff like that.

While flying around you might come across pirates or officials who would shake you down and such.

It pales in comparison to today's games, but back then I'd play it for hours at a time.

 

X-Wing: New Republic Fighter

This game would be set around the NJO series. Can you imagine tying to shoot out coralskippers who not only outnumber you but are coordinated better and have voids that swallow your shots?


Grand Army of the Republic

A war game set in the Clone Wars but with a massive amount of enemies as well as options of what you can do in the battlefield.


Scoundrel

Han Solo game that deals with the early days of the smuggler. It would be a mix of GTA and a first person shooter.


Emperors Black Bones: Shadow Ops


Splinter Cell but with shadow troopes.

 

There needs to be a GTA/Saints row open world style star wars game. It's never been done yet.

 

I definitely agree with that. I played Freelancer, which is apparently a successor to Privateer and I'd love a Star Wars game that was made in that style.
