You could probably figure late April/early May, if they go with similar dates to the first three Celebrations. The thing is that there won't be a movie release date to have to work around like there was before.

My bet is it will be:

Thursday May 24th - Sunday May 27th 2007 Indianapolis, IN

Coincides perfectly with the May 25th anniversary date of the original Star Wars.

True, but it is also Memorial Day weekend and while a three day weekend would be great to have it, I doubt the fan club would do that.

They wouldn't be able to do it in Indy if they do it over Memorial Day weekend as that is traditionally the weekend of the Indy 500, so there would be no hotel rooms anywhere in Indianapolis.

I sincerely hope its in Indy. That would just make my day. A friend told me she had heard it would be, but so many people are hearing so many things rght now I'm not going to assume anything until it's announced officially. No matter where it is, I'll be there, but the experience will be so much less amazing if it's in some big glitzy city like Vegas. Ucky.

I'm seeing a trend that most people are mid westerners on these boards. It is True that Indy is close for you guys, but there are literally thousands of fans on either coast who don't go to C3 because no one wants to go to Indianapolis.

Hey, I live on the east coast and would prefer C4 to be at Indy or St. Louis as opposed to DC or New York. Give me the 11 hour drive to Indy over fighting NY cab drivers or DC traffic any day. :p

That being said, Las Vegas is a kick ass city with lots to do. There's plenty of free entertainmaint along the strip for those who prefer not blow all thier money in the casinos and the weather is fantastic.

Of course, it may be a tad out of reach for a lot east coasters and the pamphlets advertising the prostitutes that they hand everybody along the strip may be a turn off to some. :p

HEY! They are not prostitutes, they are Professional Escorts.

Peopel are so afraid of Vegas, like they will catch the decadent bug or something. Its perfect for a convention. Thats the bottom line.

I live on the West Coast and personally the traveling was a part of the experience in my mind so I'd like for it not to be near me. I think Indiana was great, and I even didn't mind the horrible weather because it was really part of the experience. I mean this time if there's a line like the "Lucas Line" I'd take a cue from the people who were ahead of us and make a little plastic bag tent thing but yeah.

    I'd push for Indy again.

Just saw the Denver convetion center today.... holy crap it's huge! Bigger than Indy! [face_hypnotized]

Sorry, I'm gonna start swaying to there instead of Indy. :(
Besides, I had some lady down in Indy b**** me out because SHE ran infront of my car while I was trying to turn a corner! wth?

If I had any real say in the matter, I would want it anywhere but Indy.

I would prefer it to come over to the east coast and if it did Washington DC would be a great place since they have a brand new HUGE convention center and tons of hotels to stay in.

But I doubt that will ever happen so my 2nd choice it Vegas. The one thing that burned me up the most with Indy was the early (1am) last call in the bars and all the resturants closed at 11pm. WTH!?! Vegas has a nightlife that offers something for everyone and they can handle large numbers of people.

Also I pray GenCon has nothing to do with another Celebration ever again!! Give it back to Wizards of the Coast or maybe the fine folks who run Dragon Con or Comic Con every year. Someone who knows how to handle large numbers of people without the Fire Marshall shutting down parts of con in order to keep the numbers within reason.

Hmm, I'll take Philadelphia, St Louis, Kansas City since I have friends in all those locations and should be able to score accomodation rather than the insane cost of staying in a hotel as a single person!

Well, I think it should it be somewhere on the East Coast. The way I see it, it's expensive enough for American's to travel but what of those who have to travel from OVERSEAS! I mean, it's arm, leg, kidney, firstborn child. If it's on the East Coast, it's fair for all of us!

I too must agree with Happy Ninja and Maleficant, the east coast would be perfect, particularly Florida and the Orlando area. They have excellent infrastructure to support an event of this scale plus they could schedule it close to MGM's SW weekends and create synergy between both events.

    1. I think there are some pretty good reasons why Indy has been called the "Crossroads of America" for the past 100 years. Location is probably No. 1 on that list.

    2. Indy has great hospitality. Some of that great mid-west kindness is there. Very pleasant to deal with. I greatly prefer that over the east-coast attitudes that unfortuantly exist out here.

    3. Indy has a great track-record. Two Celebrations that were monumental success. And you can't blame them for the weather.

    4. The word "Indy" is too closely related to the Lucas mystique. No other town name has that connection.

...I can't say the above nice things about any other town. Indy it should be.

    "2. Indy has great hospitality."

Exactly. Vegas can take their prostitutes and gambling and stuff it up their arse, I want the place to feel like SW, and INdy was so incredibly hospitable in that way. I wouldn't want it anywhere else because I don't think anywhere else could create that same feeling.

I don't think anyone is blaming the weather really, but for the love for whatever god/goddess you believe in I pray it will not be in Indy again.

There are bigger convention centers all over the country, putting it on the east coast allows the fans from Europe to come over and enjoy it as well.

Of course none of what we say is going to amount to anything when we hear where C4 will be.
