Just wanted to put this out there because I know there are many collectors among our fan force that will be trying to score as many toys as possible at midnight on the 23rd. I thought I would have this post available for people who wanted to meet up with eachother, maybe try and find a good central location for most people to find the toys together.

Do you know of any confirmed AZ stores that will be open at midnight on the 23rd?

Well, it is my understanding that NO Toys R Us' (in AZ) will be having Star Wars midnight madness. I am so depressed... Anyway, the only stores I think we may be able to count on are the 24 hour Wal-marts. It would probably be best to just pull out the old phone book and try some of them. The one by my house (Elliot & Priest) didn't let anyone purchase any of their episode one toys out until 6 AM three years ago. They may have a different plan this time though. Keep writing in and letting us know!

Figures that my Wal-Mart is no longer 24 hour :( Oh well. After a $600 spending spree at midnight madness 3 years ago and having a total blast, this year I have decided that I am not going to buy every toy they make. Instead, I'd rather concentrate on the 12inch figures that are my faves and other higher end collectables. Besides, I'm going to run out of room again and I think hubby will kill me if I say we need a new house after less than a year in this one we just built. I am not going to collect the fast food movie stuff this year either. I want to try and spend my money at Celebration II getting some cool stuff!

Wal-Mart sounds like the best bet for me, but I don't know if there is a 24-hour one close to me. Hopefully my mom will agree to drive me at midnight to a Wal-Mart (What am I THINKING?! ;)) The good thing? I have my academic award ceremony that night and my gift from my parents is $50!! Woo-hoo!

I understand that for some of us without late night modes of transportation, getting the figures will be tough. Another thing to remember though is that Toy Stores will be opening later that morning (usually about 9:30 or 10). You may even have a better chance at getting all those toys 'cause most of the hardcore collectors will have been at Wal-Mart earlier. But I know that being there at midnight is simply part of tradition. Congrats, Kenobisgirl, on the academic award! The force it strong with this one...

UPDATE!!! I called my local 24 Hour Wal-mart in Tempe and they said they have no idea if the shipments will be out at midnight or not. I believe the manager's words were "It could be midnight, it could be 3 in the morning.. who knows." There might be some really upset fans at midnight over there. I'm not going to be there when the fists start flyin'! I'll see you all at Toys R Us...(That may sound dramatic but believe me, I've seen it happen)!

Like everyone else here, I?m probably going to go to Wal-Mart, the one in Deer Valley. Does anyone have plans on going to that one? If so maybe I can see someone there and say hello, we'll all double up and fight with the scalpers over the Count Dooku figures. Sadly, I don?t plan on going till around 7 that night because I?ll be busy during the day with work/school etc.

Since there does not appear to be an organized wait, I'll probably just go to Toys R Us in the morning. Darn. I really wanted to see people fighting over action figures like they did three years ago! Especially when most were available a week later.

(Speaking of which did anyone ever see the news article in the Rebulic the next day? The first person in line took no prisoners!)

I hear it was pretty brutal. I had no problems though, I went the next day to my local Wal-Mart (same one I'm going to this year) and picked up everything they fought over without having to hunt.

I bought my toys at Walmart when Episode I came out. Walmart set up the toys in one gigantic isle and they had security on both ends, not letting anyone in until the clock struck 6am... apparently they had a fight out at one of their sister stores at midnight and decided to hold off until things calmed down. They warned us over the PA that if there was any tom foolery, we would be escorted out of the sotre with no toys. It all went well and people even stayed after they had all their toys to help others find certain figures. It was a blast! UPDATE!!! Mesa Toys R Us (Across from Atomic Comics) will start it's Star Wars toy line at 6:30 AM on the 23rd. See you there!

Ummmm.... hello ReporterGirl. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask all Phoenix Star Wars fans (even those brand-new to our boards) to refrain from calling you for now. Deadline or not, I'd really rather that you talk to either me, Idiots Array or sideshow212 first. The three of us are in charge of the group here. You can contact any one of us via e-mail, which can be found on our profiles (click on our usernames).

While your request itself is probably not a problem, we do need to verify that you're really with the Republic first.

    Thanks.

Well, you could just e-mail her, and see if something comes back to see if she's real.

    A thought Emperor Dan,

Since ReporterGirl is contacting us through FanForce, we're now in a position of representing the entire organization whether or not we want to. Kreleia, as our City Rep, is now placed in the position of making sure that a proper response is given, if any, and to protect not only the reputation of FanForce, but possibly even the legal liability if something got pushed too far. That's also why the LineUp event has a designated Press contact point to prevent any kind of misrepresentation and to keep a single point of contact for both directions of communication.

I meant, wouldn't it be easier if you (meaing kreleia, or IA) to contact my e-mail to verify the authenticity. I totally agree with you guys taking charge.

EDIT: Err.. sorry for any confusion. :) Here's what happens when you start typing in the middle of a thought. I'm saying, because many "outsiders" to the boards tend not to check the boards like we do, it'd be easier to contact her instead of waiting for her to contact you.

I totally understand that she needs to go through you before getting to anyone else, I wasn't trying to imply anything different at all in my post.

No, Emperor_Dan, we really appriciate your input. Unfortunately email addresses are surprisingly easy to forge, so that's not necessarily the best way to proceed. kreleia and I have already been talking about this and we'll definitely keep everyone in the loop as soon as we get any new information.

    Thanks,

    IA

I guess an IP trace would work--but I'm sure whatever you've come up with is best.
