In ESB when Leia is trying to convince Han to stay he says the bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mandell changed my mind. What bounty hunter was it?

I don't think we'll ever know. Probably a bounty hunter trying to deliver Han to Jabba.

Correct. The bounty hunter that Luke, Han, and Leia met on Ord Mantell was Skorr.

Check out Classic Star Wars. You have to get more than just Volumes 1 and 2, but it's a great story.

Of course it is. The movie never says the name of the bounty hunter, so you have to go into the EU to find that out.

Yeah so basicly some dude was watching the movie and heard that line "Lightbulb" Thus creating the horror that is EU....No not realy...Its just writers taking creative liberties with one of the greatest movie trilogies ever, with no regards of contradicting what happens in them. Whew...

Good thing there aren't any contradictions, then.

What about when Boba gets out of the sarlac pit? He should have died...EU contrdicted the movie "yeah...he lived...or something.."

That's not a contradiction. Nothing in the movie says he died down there, nor does it show what happens afterwards.

Guys, I'm not a mod anymore, but both of you need to review rule 3 of EU/Canon debate. No turning threads into arguments about what is or isn't canon.

Um, neither of us have even mentioned the C word, so how could this possibly be turning into a debate on what is or isn't canon?

How have the last few posts been talking about what bounty hunter Han met at Ord Mantell?

Now they will because running into that same bounty hunter on Ord Mandell changed my mind.

    The C word!

No that's not it, ah c'mon

Doesn't Lucasfilms "aprove" everything that is published in the EU?

In REBEL MISSION TO ORD MANTELL, that bounty hunter was named Cypher.

And yeah, I've always wondered that. How is the EU not considered canon even if everything has to meet the approval of Lucas/LucasFilm?

I don't mind the EU at all. However, for me, the movies will always come first. I consider anything in the EU canon, if it doesn't contradict anything in the movies. The early EU such as Splinter of the Mind's Eye and the early Marvel comics contradict a lot of the movies. With a very few small exceptions anything created after 1991 have been good as not to contradict the movies or the rest of the EU.

$$$$$$$$$$. LFL is willing to sacrifice continuity here and there to make a few extra bucks off fans who are interested in anything with the Star Wars logo on it.

On that note, please keep the thread on topic (ie. not a debate over what's EU and canon, whether the word "canon" is explicitly used or not) or I'll have to nuke it.
