JCC Which franchise has gotten/will be getting progressively worse?

2015 seems to be the year of the sequel much like 2007 was. To tell you the truth, I'm a little burnt out by all of these sequels/reboots/whatever, and we're only halfway through. So, yeah, just curious what you all think.

 

I went for all of them as it didn't seem fair to discriminate!

Highlander. Check mate, boys and girls!

 

One that's really improved is Taken. Next one will be his dog. Then his goldfish.

 

I meant 2015 and onwards. There's been little to no talk about bringing Highlander back. It's basically a dead franchise.

 

I put other because the FF4 reboot has nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

Alvin and the Chipmunks is probably post peak.

 

Calling it: Blade Runner.

 

in 99 cases out of 100, "making a sequel" and "franchise going downhill" are synonymous.

That franchise is pretty much done with as well. I thought I read somewhere that Neeson was going to focus on more dramatic roles.

 

The exception to the rule of course being the one that brought us all here.

 

if I can quickly sum up everything that's wrong with my life, it would be that I got in line for Empire Strikes Back in May 1980 and have been standing there ever since.

 

Sometimes, I think instead of making new Star Wars movies, they should make a NEW Star Wars, if you get my meaning.

 

I'd say Toy Story, and to a controversial extent, Harry Potter, improved with each movie.

 

There's a remake in the works.

 

I know Sinister, but it hasn't moved forward since 2008.

 

Terminator just seems to be getting worse and worse. I don't know how it's possible to make evil robots from the future seem bad, but it is.

Transformers likewise has gotten worse and worse with each installment. Michael Bay is the only person who could have possibly made 2hrs of explosions and giant fighting robots boring to me.

Interesting. of the selections the only Terminator film i did not like was the 3rd, so I can't call it progressively worse.

Same with Jurassic Park, though 3 was not great, it was not bad and way better than 2.

ALL STAR WARS MOVIES ARE GOOD. A, um, few of them are simply not as good. Don't look at me like that.

Star Trek is too hit and miss to call it progressively worse.

It's hard to think of Marvel going bad given the current high quality delivered.
