Ok, I voted Isle of Man because I never saw such a weird-ass flag before. And I mean that as a compliment.

 

Ramza reasonably sure Diggy is correct. That's not a hoe, it's a selfie stick.

 

Union flag.

Due to history, Wales isn't specifically represented on the Union flag, it was considered done so by the English part. But I'd love a redesign with a big dragon in the middle.

But, I avoided an "other" option. Mostly so I didn't have to hate people who think the US Flag is the best, and so we didn't get lots of esoteric fictional flags (hi Paladin Vivec!) and stuff in here.

I think the American flag is really cool. I have arguments about this with my daughter, another flag aficionado. She says "you only like it because of what it stands for!". I think "if only you knew...". Then again, she may be right. Subconsciously, it's the flag that signals "freedom". And maybe "power". And maybe some Bruce Springsteen. But it's easy for her to slag it: she's Canadian.

I think the Canadian flag is cool, too. And that's probably because I used to wave it around on Liberation Day, as a wee Watto, because it was the Canadians, not the Americans, that liberated my home town.

 

OK, but there's a list and it has a number of dragons and we're sticking to the list!

Did I stutter guys? Did I ask "what flag besides the inevitable nationalist one of your own country, do you like"? No. I was clear. Bad Jello.

 

If we have to stick to the list then it's a toss-up between Wales and the Isle of Man. However, I've always liked the flag of the Marshall Islands.



I'm also a fan of the double-headed eagle, with the Austrian and Prussian variants probably being my favorites.

 

I've always called the Isle of Man flag the legswastika. It's good to know its official name.

 

My ideal flag would be a wyvern holding the holy handgrenade of Antioch in one claw, an AK-47 in the other. Imagine it!

 

I asked myself what flag I would want if I were to start my own country: Wales got my vote.

I voted for Mozambique for the obvious in-crowd reasons.

While we're straying from the list, I really like the ca. 2001 clip art sheep on the Falkland Islands flag.

Believe it's a shuttlecock. Though not on the list.

 

Wales. Cymru! I'd like to be able to say that my family comes from llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch but they don't. They come from somewhere near Aberystwyth.

 

They must sing beautifully.

They do indeed. No it is near Bwlchgwynysbytyllyddthillwynystwyth, although my middle name is pretty much Dfwyllywfydwyllydd.

 

Kiribati has a pretty great flag, but it would definitely be improved if they replaced the frigatebird with a dragon.
