I wanted to vote, but i couldnt bring myself to pick the least bad out of those 3. This whole trilogy was a complete waste of time, money, and wire strings.

All that these movies gave us were trench coats.

After watching the box set with Philosopher's Commentary, and hearing the critics completely miss the ball in the Critic's Commentary, I think Reloaded and Revolutions are now tied for me.
Matrix was pretty shallow compared to the other two, but it had to be the simple introduction. But the public loves easy-to-digest movies that they think are making them think. Problem is, collectively they'll only think so much before you'll reach unfamiliar territory with them.
Also, the first one had a more universal (read: simple) philosophy of 'is this real?' which is nice, but can only make you think so much. The other two held a much more specific philosophy that not everyone can relate to. 'New age' metaphysics stuff. I say 'New age' because it's only new in the western world. These philosophies have been bouncing around the east for ages.

The First, hate the others. The action was better in 2, but 3 has less annoying dialogue.

I voted for the first one. I also really like the others too. I am a really big fan of the music from the films. Man, I look like Neo with my sunglasses on. :D

The original - I liked the others too but they can't beat the first one.

I think the first one has the best picture.

I chose The Matrix, but like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, I see the trilogy as one large single film.

I agree with virtually everything That_Wascally_Droid said thirteen posts back! I think that the original Matrix perhaps works better as a stand-alone entity unto itself, and its message is perhaps more immediately accessible. Reloaded and Revolutions are basically one film that's been split in two, and even when seen together they are dependent on audience's knowledge of the original. They are thematically much more denser and more complex, and fly over many audience members' heads as a result!
I feel I can't really rate Reloaded and Revolutions as separate works. I'd have to say that I like the second and third films (together) just a tad more than the original. As accessible as the original Matrix is, the Wachowski Brothers' vision is incomplete without the follow-through of the sequels!

    Number One of course.

I like to believe the second and third don't exist. [face_plain]
