    I think it also depends what kind of stories you're going to tell. Are you going to tell about the O3 or a character developed in the new Canon, i.e. Aphra? I'd like to see both but (if done well) some may prove more interesting than others. I think with some minor characters you maybe have more room to go where you want and mine the EU whereas with the O3 you don't.
