well, esb is terrific, but as for light saber duels, TPM has the best one by far, darth maul was just too cool, and that duel against both jedi was great, in fact after seeing ep 3, TPM is a much better film, i actually rank it right above ESB

    1. ROTS, 2, TPM, 3. ESB, 4. ATOC, 5, ROTJ, 6, ANH, ( the lack of effects compered to the rest, and weak light saber duel have broght this film to last place...but stilll an excellent movie!!!

ROTS is my favorite without a doubt. Second is ANH, probably because of the special effects especially when Luke is taking out the Death Star. I know they are considered lame by today's standards but the fact was in the Olden Days when I first saw it no one had done anything quite this effective and it was done with minatures and no CGI. Can still remember feeling like I was flying in that fighter. It's definitely a nostalga thing.

I just watched Return of the Jedi and i cried because i had watched I, II, III, IV and V before that in order. The ending with the music playing as Luke cuts down and defeats his father, it was so good....and then Vader takes out the emperor ("father...please!") and the whole clebration at the end. Man what a movie, what a saga, what a story. It's just so deep, emotional, action packed, breathtakin, spectacular and heartfelt. Star Wars is why movies were originally made for, to take us to a different place and have a hell of a ride.

Its one story, but i like ROTJ the best because of the ending, its the iceing on the cake.

I don't mean to be rude. But I don't think this is for 'Revenge of the Sith' stuff only

PadwanKayla, the effects in the older films aren't really that lame - they're just looking a bit worn around the edges now - which is why we get the occasional update from Uncle George from time to time [face_mischief]

Definitely A New Hope. Han Solo was in top form in that movie.

Well, ROTJ is where it should be.

I voted on this a long time ago, and I don't remember what I voted. [face_thinking]

I gave myself 2 months to let my 'new Star Wars film' fever die down.

I still picked Revenge of the Sith.

I think one of the reasons RotS is getting such support here is that it actually managed to make grown geeks weep ;)

I am REALLY surprised at this. I though 4, 5 and even 6 were all better than RoTS.

I prefer the PT out of all the 6 films because they're more complex, contain more visual "information," more socially-pertinent story material, were made under the tight quality-control of a single, independent(?) director, and lastly, utilized the versatility of digital video production. And within these particular trilogy of films, my FAVORITE are AOTC and ROTS.

The Empire Strikes Back, followed by Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace, and then bringing up the rear is Attack of the Clones.

Note that all three Lord of the Rings movies, along with several others, occupy the space between RotJ and TPM, and a few more separate out TPM and AotC. Hoping that movie won't become a scar
