Maybe some pods at TPM's poster. The podracing is a great moment in ep1, why not include it in the poster?

I do agree that Dooku should have been on the poster, but I think he should have replaced R2 and 3P0, not Yoda.

 

TFA is my favorite but I do love the one's for TPM and ROTJ also.

 

Is posting pictures here OK if it's not too many? I read on another thread that someone was warned for using too many. I'll post one picture only. For ANH I always liked this one the most for some reason:


I don't like the OT special edition ones that much. I prefer the original ones. For Jedi I like the "minimalist" poster more than the "epic" ones. I mean the one on the first soundtrack album, with only the light saber on it. Same with the prequels. I always really liked the TPM one that shows Anakin with Vader's shadow on the wall behind him (teaser poster?). For Clones I somehow find the one with Ani and Padme back to back ("A Jedi shall not know hatred. Nor anger...") the most interesting one. That would be my favorite one of the whole saga, including that text (probably a very unpopular opinion ). Sith as well, I prefer the teaser to the later official poster. Those that show all the characters and lots of "action" are nice, but I find them more "generic", the teaser posters "deeper" and more mysterious. "Less is more" so to say.

 

The Phantom Menace.

 

The Clones poster perfectly encapsulates the film. It looks like a film done in a classic Hollywood style, and that's precisely what it is. Empire would be second and ROTJ third.

 

It's a tie between I and V, but I chose V for old times' sake.

 

Yes, Liam Neeson's eyes are amazing there.

 

I actually like that one better than the one I have. Was it done by Struzan?

 

I really like the original (pulled) epVI poster - Revenge of the Jedi. I like that it's so minimalist, and Luke using each other's sabers really plays on Luke's "temptation".

Having said that, it is also incredibly boring that Vader ("in suit") is on 4 of the 6 posters, I know he's a main character but it's so boring.

 

I picked ESB, TPM, AOTC.

ESB for its frozen imagery almost giving it a forbidding feeling.

TPM and AOTC because of how they almost look like how they made those classic adventures film posters which we need more of IMO.

 

It seems not. According to some source I just checked the one in my post was called "Star Wars style C movie poster", illustrated by Tom Chantrell. A Google image search seems for confirm that.

The Phantom Menace.

The red background of Darth Maul's face makes the poster have a feeling of warmth that Vader's mask doesn't convey, and there's a lovely innocence in the way everyone except Darth Maul is portrayed. I feel that if I didn't know the story of Star Wars, this poster would attract me to see the film, which the other posters don't do for me.

 

Return of the Jedi.

 

I voted AOTC, though it's pretty much tied with TPM, ANH and TESB.
ROTS's poster is, IMHO, horrid.
ROTJ's is OK.
TFA's works, but it's no beauty. A bit too modern for my taste. I really wanted a classic Struzan theatrical poster!

My favorite poster is ROTS My favorite secondary poster is ROTJ with GL's hands (in place of MH's) holding up the saber against a space background.

I think Dooku isn't on the poster because he was a surprise character. I suppose Lucas didn't want the people knew the character too much... (though the trailer could spoiled certain things, I don't know xD).

 

Drew Struzan included him in some earlier versions of the poster.
