Which Star Wars battle is your favourite?

I went with Geonosis. I've never, ever been more excited for a movie than I was for Episode II, and that battle was the movie's crowning glory. At the first screening I saw, the crowd absolutely buzzed; it remains the most thrilling time I've ever spent in a theater.

 

I had to go for Yavin IV since its sense of tension and desperation still pack a punch. Endor, Geonosis and Coruscant are spectacular runners-up, but Yavin IV is still the most dramatic.

 

Battle of Hoth.

 

Endor, though I can't take anything away from the others, either.

Geonosis

 

Voted Yavin for the sheer drama of it. Geonosis is probably second on the list; it's the redeeming moment of an otherwise terrible film. Hoth and Endor are also very good, though Endor (and most of RotJ) seems to be trying too hard.

Battle of Hoth is the best one cinematically, I think, so I'm voting for that one, but the Battle of Endor deserves an Honorable Mention at the very least for sheer scope.

If we're delving into EU territory then it'd have to be the Seventh Battle of Ruusan.

The Battle of Endor is my favorite. So much happened during it's span, I think that's why I like it the best.

 

The Battle of Yavin

 

Endor, though I feel the need to specify the space portion of it. I will say that one of my favorite movie experiences was being able to see RotS in digital in the theaters. The Battle of Coruscant was a whole different experience from previous regular viewings.

Those are all a bit more "big picture" than I would comment on. But in terms of straight melees, I like Luke vs. Vader 1 and 2. Iconic.

But, as iconic as they were, Maal vs. Obiwan/Quigon is probably my favorite for the emotional impact, different battle styles and sense of desperation.
