I said other because I'm actually excited for them all pretty much equally. Even though I'd like some other time periods, I'm just really excited to start relearning about Star Wars. Also, there hasn't been a single thing I'm not interested in.

I put down other/nothing, because I'm really apprehensive about the LEU right now. I'm not unwilling to give it a shot, but I can't be excited about individual works right now because the only LEU material that currently exists (TCW) I dislike. So it's a wait and see thing right now.

I ticked Rebels and Tarkin, the first because I'm sure it'll be entertaining if nothing else, and the second because I trust Luceno.

Albeit I probably will read Lords and New Dawn, but Kemp's a bit hit-and-miss, and while I adore JJM, I'm not as interested in Rebels spin-offs. As for the comics... er... yeah... I'll give the first issues a go, but it'll be the "Star Wars" title that does that, not out of any genuine excitement for the premises.

Tarkin tops the list for me. It has pretty much everything I want at the moment: focus on a intriguing secondary character, its written by a proven author, and stands a high chance of bringing back into canon a lot of details and characters. I am also looking forward to A New Dawn for most of the same reasons.

Tarkin is the only thing I'm really excited about. Mainly because it's Luceno and seems to have been done prior to any of the new EU-wiping stuff. Rebels I'm still not sure about, but will definitely be watching with an open mind. I hope it's good.

As for the other ones? Hah. The Vos-Ventress novel would have had major appeal, if it wasn't being based on TCW scripts (contributed to by Lucas no less) and written by Golden. I mean, those are good ways to completely kill my interest.

Heir to the Jedi, I loved the excerpt and the way Hearne wrote Luke.

    1. Rebels
    2. A New Dawn
    3. Lords of the Sith
    4. Tarkin
    5. Darth Vader
    6. Princess Leia
    7. Star Wars (comic)
    8. Ventress/Vos
    9. Heir to the Jedi

On their own merit Rebels and A New Dawn would still be at the top of my list, but fact that I am so freaking ready to get this whole thing started cements their place.

Out of all the comics I guess Vader's is the most interesting because I tentatively like what the author says is going to happen. A Vader that focuses on politics and power within the Empire is more intriguing to me.

Finally, I will probably still get Heir to the Jedi, but I am sort of dreading it. Even though the sample was a lot better than I expected, the idea of a first person Luke novel doesn't appear to me at all. Also, like the comics I'm fearing that it might get caught up in the worst kind of OT worship and mimicry.

Lords of the Sith for me. Perhaps I just didn't read the right novels/comics, but I've rarely seen Vader and Sidious interact for long stretches, so I'm looking forward to reading a whole novel of that. I was initially quite enthusiastic about Tarkin as well, but its apparent pagecount is simply too low for me to want to buy it, not in mmpb format and even less so in hardcover format.

Lords of the Sith, A New Dawn and Rebels are what I'm most lokking forward to. I'll get Tarkin , Heir to the Jedi and the Ventress and Vos novel at some point too but I'm not as excited for them. I don't buy Star Wars comics but when they make TPB's of the Marvel comics if my library gets a copy then I'll read them. The Darth Vader one looks good.

Followed by Lords of the Sith and Heir to the Jedi.

I am probably only going to read Tarkin, as Luceno is sure to preserve at least some of the old EU in this novel. As for the rest, I have little to no interest in another rehash of the period between ANH and ESB, even if its the "real version"this time. Perhaps I will pick up the New EU when they start releasing post RotJ stuff, if only to see Disney's alternative to the Legends universe.

It also just struck me that the Vader comic will have already have a few issues out by the time Lords of the Sith is released.

It will be cool to see how different the two Vaders will be. My hope is that Lords of the Sith will show a Vader who is almost, but not quite, done with being Anakin. The Vader in the comic should be the cool and sarcastic Vader, decades away from a hot tempered idealistic Jedi.

I find the page count somewhat unreliable with Luceno. He's heavier on his description, so you get more words for your page, instead of lots of short line breaks with lots of empty white space.

    1. Rebels
    2. A New Dawn
    3. Tarkin

I'm a little apprehensive about the comics, as I don't like Marvel's look and structuring as much as Dark Horse.

Yeah, before Darth Plagueis came out, people were upset with the short page number. But no one complained about the size after it came out, that book was dense and packed with all sorts of in-depth information. Some authors simply write "heavier" than others.

People are making good points about Tarkin here. I already voted, but I guess I could enjoy that. Luceno is probably my favorite EU author, and I'd love to see things preserved.

Nothing, even though I am a fan of Luceno and JJM, I am uninterested in the direction the universe is being taken and no matter how much they end up retaining, it will almost certainly never truly be the universe I love again.
