For 20 some odd years the Death Star just blew up. Now it blows up in a circle. Han was a stud who shot Greedo. He didn't simply and cooly jerk his head sideways inches from a bounty hunter's gun. Now I'm distracted by the ronto and that guy slamming that bar down on the ground on the Mos Eisley approach. Give me old school. There was nothing wrong with it. I think Jabba's addition in A New Hope is fine. But what did it add, really?

Exactly. Occasionally, I thought the additions added something in a resonant way. That bantha herd in ROTJ was just beautiful and very evocative. But most of it fell flat.

I like the OOT for the actually movie, but looking at the bad effects irritates me.

What I want: a Classic Trilogy that has Han shooting first/Boba's real voice/etc but with the cleaned up lightsabers and effects of the DVD :) (The ring explosion could go, but the pink fireworks wasn't very good...)

Growing up in the 70's, I saw all the effects. I saw the block around the TIE Fighters. Who cared? It never bothered me ever growing up. It was part of that film. Its imperfection was its perfection. I don't like all the pristine perfection that's so prevalent in all movies nowadays, especially since the advent of CGI. It doesn't have to be crystal clear with perfect editing and action all seconds of the film to be one of the best movies ever. Unaltered ANH and the others was perfection.

You wouldn't add eye shadow to the Mona Lisa, and you shouldn't add shockwaves to the Death Star explosion... I'll take Original Trilogy: Unaltered.

Original unaltered edition. I really like the remastered DVD version in terms of quality, because it looks brilliant. But I still hate the additions. The only thing I like is Anakin at the end of RotJ and the new music (though Yub Nub is fun for nostalgia :p). But still, I could do without those. I would rather do without those than have to watch Jedi Rocks and Greedo shoots first [face_plain]

    OOT.
Loved it then, love it still. The changes always irritated me, because I had a 'what was that?' moment then that pulled right out the movie.

Most of the time, I don't care :). I like all versions and they have their good and bad parts all of them.

But OOT will have a special place in my heart because it was the first edition of Star Wars I saw.

There are pros and cons to both. I like the updated special effects of the DVD, but there are some changes I don't like. But really I don't care. The version I watch is the DVD.

I can't pick, because I like some things in the DVD, but also some things on the originals. I guess if I had to, I'd pick the originals, but I'm still not voting one way or the other. [face_not_talking]

Original Trilogy: Unaltered. The way Star Wars was meant to be seen, IMO.
