The original... and frankly I'm amazed anyone could rate a cover version of a Beatles song as superior to the original.
Cocker's version has completely the wrong attitude. Cocker isn't at all suited to the song. It's supposed to be a light-hearted tune. Not something belted out by a power performer.
The original by The Beatles
In this case the original, most definitely.
Though there have been covers of other Beatle songs I've grown quite found of.
Perfect Cirles Imagine. I really enjoy the totally opposite feel it has to the Elnnon version. I'm not sure if I could choose between the two.
"Imagine" was a Lennon solo effort made after The Beatles broke up.
I've seen/heard a lot of people rate the Cocker version as better; I guess I was hallucinating.
Only the cover ..
yeah, joe cocker.
what can i say?
i love the wonder years.
Definitely the original.
The Beatles version is pop; Crocker's is soul; both are good.
It's a variation. An interpretation. There's no such things as a 'wrong' attitude.
