It would be cool if Dex turned up but I wouldn't bet on it :(

That species is by far the most interesting looking.

Well, you know, we see C-Town in the new ROTJ ending. It's there, looks well-maintained and hyper-industrialized and over-built as always ("The entire planet is one huge city" as Captain Obvious of Naboo would say). Well-lit like Vegas and looks ultra-modern (for that era's sense of "sleek and new")...so, I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe some anti-Imperial graffiti left over or something.

Yes, the tower/spire that houses the Emperor's throne room is almost identical to the towers/spires on the Jedi Temple. Leaving the temple standing post-Order 66 could also be interpreted as being a final insult to the Jedi Order ... a monument to its failure, its defeat.

I know this picture is a few weeks old, but I cant find this angle of Coruscant anywhere else.... Is this an early matte of Episode VII Coruscant that Batpeeio is crouching in front of?

(This was from the Bad Robot Twitter feed a few weeks ago in response to Zack Snyder's posting of several Star Wars themed pics from the BvS:DoJ [yikes!] set)

(Note: I am not even going to edit out the emoticon that inadvertently formed when I tried to turn Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice into an acronym... I like the title better with a big smiley face in the middle of it)

Don't kill me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that it was from The Clone Wars cartoon...

It's possible... I have no Idea. Can anyone find the source of the background (it may be Gotham for all I know)? Or is this original art?

For a split second a thought that was a Stargate in the middle of the street.

Sorry but I dind that in extremely bad taste: all of that real-life pain and suffering isn't an appropriate analogy for a light-hearted spacefantasy film.

A light hearted space fantasy, yes, but war is war and war brings destruction and suffering.

Star Wars has always included that - it Is the responsible thing to do and make out Luke war doesn't have a downside.

If we see Coruscant in VII I'm hoping we see it in some state of disrepair. Not a bomb site obviously.

The thing is, it doesn't. They mention a catastophic death toll in Phantom Menace but it isn't depicted. We never see civilian suffering. We do not see the capital of Naboo in ruins. In fact, I cannot think of any time innocent civilians are caught up in the fghting and killed in these films. That is, in fact one of the major moral problems with Star Aars; by his aesthetic decisions, Lucas portrays war as a fun adventure.

Okay, I haven't seen the Clone Wars apart from the first film. It is weird that a cartoon aimed (I presume) at younger children may show a less sanitised version of the conflict than the films. Perhaps that is a good thing but if it is still glamourising it and presenting it as "entertainment" than it wouldn't.

Did you mean you are surprised that is would show a LESS sanitised view of war?

Star Wars movies are aimed at kids, why wouldn't a TV show be?

Yes, it is indeed far from "light hearted", but I need the physical destruction caused by a battle. Civilians fleeing from their homes like ants.:)

Coruscant must be addressed... it may be possible to have a movie without going there (it would still need to be mentioned), but they will need to return before the ST is finished.

If Leia is on this exotic city world with a rebel base, I'm thinking they haven't retaken Coruscant. Or it's such a war ravaged place that it needs time to rebuild and thus isn't suitable for Republic leaders.

Of course if they have retaken Coruscant by now, how much longer will it take? What would make the difference?

This is all assuming that Coruscant is under Alliance control and the Jedi are still around.
