Who has made the most contribution to the character of Anakin / Darth Vader?

Hayden's performance in AotC gave me a look as to why Anakin turned out the way he did, but when someone says Vader all I can think of is James Earl Jones.

James Earl Jones by far, among these choices. But I feel like there should have been a choice for whoever developed the original costume. Because the look of the character a such a big part of it too, for me.

 

Without the voice Vader is just another bad guy. With it, he become legendary. I still shudder when I here it.

What about Sebastian Shaw? I wouldn´t vote for him, but he should be in the poll!

Hayden is giving the character a depth without which we couldn´t fully understand him. None of these guys would make the character complete without all the others(plus Shaw), but still, I feel that Christensens performance is the most important part of Anakin Skywalker´s character.

Hayden. He's responsible for the transformation between Anakin and Vader, and with his extraordinary talent, he's doing a great job--he portrays the good-Anakin and the going-bad-Anakin equally well. I look forward to seeing him in Episode III.

 

When I think of Vader I think of JEJ
When I think of Anakin I think of Hayden, but I voted JEJ...

 

I think Anakin is an extremely important basis for DV, so I took THE HAYDEN!
He managed to bridge the gap between the sweet kid and the Dark Lord very well.
(And...Hayden was misspelled in the question... )

tough question. JEJ's voice is pretty iconic, isn't it? i'll have to go with hayden christiansen, though.

Hayden is doing a great job with the character but when you think Vader . . . it's the voice . . . JEJ!

 

I like James Earl Jones, he is Darth Vader. But I think I am coming from a different approach and I voted for Hayden Christensen. He made Darth Vader the character he is. He showed how Anakin was overcome by all the anger and grief he faced, how it all amounted up to Darth Vader. He set up really well the transition from an innocent little boy to the most feared figure in the galaxy. (Hope this made sense).

As Jake Lloyd and Hayden Christiansen is concerned, I am rather disappointed in the prequel characterizations of Anakin Skywalker. Especially Hayden's whose role portrayed the legendary Jedi as a overbearing sniveling lad who just needs a good backhand to reality.. Really contradicts the words spoken about him by the old wise Obi-Wan in ANH. I imagined something similar to the mold of young Obi-Wan's (Ewan) character, a young herioc and noble Jedi idealist whose life is shattered by misperceived betrayal and/or failure leading to his seduction to the Darkside.
