Who is the best Star Wars villain?

It was a toss-up between Vader and the Emperor, but Palpy came out on top because he's just sooooo ruthless and evil!

 

I voted Palpatine because he is all evil and totally engulfed by the darkside.

 

NO!!! Fred the Weird monkey thing was the worst villain! Wait a second, I think I'm off the topic a little here...

Palpatine is just pure evil.

And he scared me a lot when I was 9.

Vader, only becasue of the voice though, actuall physical violence has to go to palps

Going old school... I voted Vader probably because at the impressionable age of 11, he WAS Evil incarnate.

Even today, he is still the icon most closely associated (at least for me) with Evil.

There may be more interesting characters... Fett is my favorite SW character, bar none. He's the most mysterious by far. But he's not EVIL per say. Just a guy making a buck. There are more flashy characters...Darth Maul is very cool, but he wasn't as menancing as Vader... possibly because we saw him for only a very short amount of time.

arccording to today's new Darth Vader is the second most Evil person in a movie. Nr 1 is Hannibal (but then again in 5 years ppl forgot about the movie and Vader will take is place WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH)

 

Darth Maul was a wannabe in comparison to Darth Vader; the original bad guy

Darth Vader is cooler because his story is much better explained and he seems more evil.

 

At least darth vader tries to kill ppl (a lot)

 

I wouldn't say Maul was a wannabe... ok, maybe I would! But give the guy some credit... he appeared much younger then Vader and seemed very eager to... kill.

Ya gotta admit... he looked awfully cool for a multi-horned entity! That red and black face tatoo... that was simply brilliant!

And come on... that lightsaber battle has got to be one of the best "things" ever filmed! It was spectacular!

Can't wait until AotC... fields of Jedi dealing out death and destruction via lightsabers! How cool is that gonna look!?!?! OOPS! Wrong thread...

 

Vader's the coolest, that much is clear

 

To me the most successful villian is the one in the background pulling the string, so I voted the Emperor.

 

Vader is definately evil but he did go all gushy at the end, so I went with the emperor. evil, cackling and unrepentant. Cool.

 

Vader. Because he is a thinking evil. He's not evil just because he doesn't know what else to do...

Isn't it fascinating that a cute,innocent, angelic little boy would grow up to be such a bad guy? But,he really wasn't so bad after all.Just ask Luke. There's hope for the rest of us.

 

Darth vader was never so evil to me as he allways spared luke. But the emporer was pure evil, the way he attacked luke at the end of Return of the Jedi that was pure evil.
