C.J. Snare of Firehouse. He's not in this poll, though, so I voted for Vedder.

Chris Cornell, plus he is still alive. Audi Salve is a good group.

Can't say the same for Layne Staley "Down in a hole"

or Kurt Cobain "I hate myself and I want to die."

Can't stand Eddie Chedder. The Jesus Christ complex is just plain wrong.

What about that other dead guy from Blind Mellon? He had a good voice, stage presence... he had it all.

Then there is the other dead guy from Sublime.

Oh well, another one bites the dust.

Eddie Vedder, without a doubt, without hesitation.

People vote for Kurt Cobain just becuase he is dead, because he has become myth, become legend. But when you review reality, Eddie Vedder easily surpases Kurt Cobain in terms of lyrical quality, songwriting ability, musical mastery, etc...

Cobain is the best songwriter, and Cornell probably has the best range as a singer. But I gave my vote to my hometown boy Mark Lanegan, who I was pleasantly surprised to see included in the poll. Great singer and songwiter. I love all the early Trees stuff, and his solo work is amazing.

I voted for Cobain. His music really speaks to you, its very powerful. I also like Chris Cornell because of his insanely awesome singing voice, but in the end, it had to go to Cobain.

i had to vote for mark lanegan, cos i grew up on screamin trees, his cameos with mad season, and always thought he had the best voice. i started a band when i was 15 in which i played guitar, and sang in a way that sounded like mark lanegan. his solo work is also great, as is the stuff he's done with queens of the stone age.

The selection on this one is way better than the one that is on the first page now.
